'The British Open'… 😡
You're not American, please don't use Americanisms. It was, has and always will be 'The Open.'
The reason it is called 'The Open' is because it was the first 'Open' golfing invitation anywhere in the world. Hence 'The Open.' Later down the line came the likes of the 'U.S. Open' and so on. Because other nations copied the format.
But there will only ever be one original that started it all. It is a very important Golfing fact and calling it anything other than 'The Open' is blasphemy. 😉
Like does it ever warm up over there? Every golf video I’ve ever seen, people are wearing jackets or sweaters. 🤔
