Motorcycle rider have always know about Merino Wool, high end baselayer are all merino wool. It is great at wicking mositure off your body. So it help temp regulare. Good advice for summer outdoor range shirt.

  2. Nick T says:

I liked 511 Tac. There clothing are cool and awesome. I do agree with polyester shirt when it is hot.

  3. Austin T says:

Great ideas. Thanks for the info, definitely going to look into merino garments, especially the boxers.

  4. Jay Din says:

Thanks your Wooly underwear suggestion has been Awesome 🙂

  5. Parker says:

Why not just wear the clothes you normally wear? Are you practicing for competition that requires certain clothes?

  6. Uriah says:

1:46 Do you use your off-hand to press the mag release?

  7. Brandon Rupp says:

The shoe issue is completely legit. I wear my hiking boots most of the time. I'm not as worried about speed, but traction matters.

  8. Don says:

Thank you for the tips about merino wool. I’ve also experienced success with Lulelemon clothing for range wear, particularly their clothes with silverescent, anti stink fabric; dries fast and not tacticool looking if that’s what you’re trying to do.

  9. Some of us are allergic to wool.

  10. Danny K says:

One major strength of the enigma is that clothing choices don't affect the shooting gear as much. My most recent match I wore athletic shorts and a t-shirt and was the least overheated person on my squad. It was cloudy and not super hot out, but was extremely humid, so the breathability was super nice.

Thanks for the recommendation on the mag pouch to go with the engima, btw! It worked great at the match this weekend.

  11. What happened on that reload at the 1:15 mark?

  12. Ranger Smith says:

My current range is indoors, so clothing is not a factor. It's not a tactical range, just a standing, no-draw, paper target range. If I were working outdoors in the summer — other than my own yard work, I'm not — I'd go for as little clothing as possible (consider going "commando") because I like the sun and am not particularly susceptible to burning. The best shoe for the range, if you're moving, is an ankle-height hiker, laced up firmly.

  13. I live near Atlanta. 100% for wool Tees. I also have one of those bandanas that you can put in the fridge. Lasts a good hour or so.

  14. Thank you for the helpful tips! Even about underwear. And I’ve experienced slipping with running shoes on the range… bought hiking shoes right away!

  15. Ignis Anima says:

As a fellow Georgian, we're always uncomfortable and hot in the summer. Just comes with the state.

  16. Realizing my pit sweat at the range makes me want to make a pit stop 😓😂

  17. You're making a difference with your content. 🌟 🎉

  18. BW says:

Merino wool is awesome. It costs a little more and it's often blended to give better longevity but it's a wonder fabric. Loose linen is also nice as a summer fabric but it's still cotton.
I bought some Darn Tough lightweight socks because my feet sweat in summer. The wool socks do a better job of wicking sweat than cotton and seem to dry faster, not to mention that they're odor and bacteria resistant.

  19. I switched to wool for my t-shirts, underwear, and socks almost 5 years ago now when I went on a multi-week hike through Portugal and Spain. They performed beyond expectations, and I won't go back. I hadn't seen Ridge yet. The sun shirts look nice. I'll have to pick up one of those.

  20. Merino wool and Altra trail runners?! You realize: you’re turning into an ultra lite Hiker. 😂

I’ll be waiting for your review on which trekking poles make the best shooting sticks! ❤

*(keep up the good work, btw)

  21. MROBH says:

    Great information

  22. Kat H says:

Anyone else who is sensitive to wool try one of the Merino wool shirts? I've had issues in the past with wool causing itchy redness in sensitive areas…especially if I sweat a little…like inside my elbows.

  23. Kat H says:

Oh, this is so timely for me! I live in south Florida, so it's brutal here!

  24. 5.11 has very nice light weight pants and I think even shorts but I’m not sure

  25. 3:45 I've been using a pair of Adidas Terrex Two Ultra and the Boost midsole makes it the most comfy trail runner/range shoe I've used thus far. Always open to new suggestions, of course! Anyway, great video! Merino Wool is a gamechanger! 💯

  26. I'm here to recommend Merrell and Nike ACG for range shoes too!

  27. Graham O'Hea says:

The problem is that merino wool is that it lacks durability compared to other fabrics… its shorter, thinner fibers give it its desirable qualities, but also means that it tends to fall apart a lot sooner than fabrics

  28. Lance L says:

Always good info for everyone, be safe & well 💪🏽🙏🗽🌞👍 carry on 🔫 🇺🇲

  29. Happy Dog says:

    Bullet Golf……..I like it.

  30. Traci Axtell says:

Thanks. I don't know how people deal with heat and humidity in the south. Just got back from KY to pack my daughters Pod. I will stay in the north but your info works for us up here too.

  31. Here in the Southeast Texas Coastal Plains, I agree that wearing clothing that keeps you cool is an absolute MUST. I’ll definitely check out these brands that you mentioned. Thanks for the info!

  32. I "ran" into a similar situation during a zombie run a few years ago- using my lightweight shoes in a run that encompassed far more than just blacktop or a well maintained trail- I kept slipping in the mud when dodging zombies.

  33. kemsmith says:

"Bullet golf" 😂 I love it!
