I deliver straight talking, easy to follow, honest, professional, calculated advice to all of my viewers from beginner to tour pro. This tried and tested method of coaching has helped many golfers achieve their personal goals and beyond.

The MD3 Milled line has Progressive Groove Optimization – A 3 groove package precision milled into the face of these wedges that optimizes spin as you go up in loft. It creates a smoother spin transition from your irons to wedges. The 30V grooves in the Pitching and Gap Wedges are built for shots that require a steep angle into the ball. The 20V grooves in the sand wedges are designed for full shots and bunker shots, and we put in wider 5V grooves in the lob wedges for better control for shots out of the rough and around the green.

The state of him there lol 😂

    2. I can’t see how you can judge a Club of Astro type Turf?!, all I found was it hurt your hands!🤔,and no, I’m not doing it the wrong way!, we all have our own way we play a shot, it’s like putting, we all see it feel it differently…., this test is purely subjective….🤨

    3. Brian Pope says:

I’m confused.. you said anything over 11,000 rpm’s was good but this only got up to 10,700. Why is that? User error?

    4. Kyle007 says:

I have this in a 52/10 and I love it so much I'll be buying a 60 and a 56 in it soon they're truly great.

    5. I have these in 54* with 10* bounce and a 48* in 8* bounce both in S Grind and LOVE them. They look fantastic in chrome and the ball checks like a bungee chord is attached to it!

    6. lovetogolf says:

      I'll get mine tomorrow S grind 10 B

    7. Amanda Fox says:

      How spiny 🏌🏌🏌🏌

    8. Vic F says:

Hope we can see the Callaway Apex CF 16 irons review soon.

    9. Keith Martin says:

Rick, the reviews are great but please review golf balls in the same way you did the MD3 wedges. In summer I use Prov1x to stop on firmer greens. In winter Srixon AD333 Tour to stop on softer greens. I'm sat here looking at a tube of Srixon soft feel (green) I won last week and wondering if I should game them. If we had a review of different golf balls and in particular how they perform from say 120 yards in it would be useful for many golfers in making the correct choice for their game.

    10. How do u get that much money for those clubs

    11. tsilmanav says:

I have a MD3 50deg. I have to tell you it is great. It is tough to describe, but to me it almost feels like a different kind of metal. If you have hit a cast wedge and then switch to a forged carbon steel wedge, you notice the difference, this is just as big of a feel difference. At least for me, it is a great wedge. Not sure if I want to dump my Vokey 56deg but I'm also not saying that I haven't considered it.

    12. Dtyler171 says:

Looks like the 20 yard shots were extremely low…so even though the spin was really good, the launch was too low for them to stop (at least on the sim anyway)

    13. Hey Rick is all your wedges the same length? (Shafts length)

    14. Jack Garvey says:

      Is he sponsered by UnderArmor?

    15. isthatabear says:

@Rick Shiels Golf Channel What happened to the Vice golf balls? I thought you were going to use them for all wedge testing to get consistent results.

    16. KBrinky says:

What happened to using the vice golf balls to be neutral since they don't make clubs

    17. Cian Lanigan says:

For wedge reviews, seeing them on an actual practice area, visually is better for me

    18. Wm. Sturman says:

Cheers Rick- IMHO your golf channel and reviews are by far the best on YouTube. You've gone from good at the start to Excellent today. Good job. I know with that success, it makes it harder to answer & do all the requests people ask for? I have Bobby Jone/Dave Pelz limited edition Wedges with the 3-M insert face made of ball bearing hard steel & exceptional grooves. (Several were stolen recently) But I would really like to see you do some reviews on Bobby Jones current Blackbird line of Drivers, FW's, and especially Hybrids! You of all people should be able to put your hands on them? Also, a short review on the Wedges I mentioned. I personally think there are great clubs, and many people look to previous year models because they can't afford new all the time. Off the above mentioned clubs, I'd really appreciate just the Driver, Hybrid, and one Wedge (56-degree SW) for example. I don't know if this has been thought of or done before, but maybe golfers could do "Pay per reviews" on the clubs they are wanting to buy or are interested in? I'd gladly pay $20.00 for a complete review and your opinions and advice? Just a thought. Thanks for all the quality reviews and time you've put into your channel. Cheers~William ~

Are these worth upgrading from the MD2? Head to head comparison?

    20. Paul G says:

I agree with the gimmicky comment. I am not sure I can take them seriously.

    21. Enzo Shotz says:

      Nike engage wedges plzz

    22. @Rick Shiels PGA Golf Professional Manchester have you done a titleist sm5 review.

    23. Cameron Boyd says:

I have just bought TaylorMade RocketBallz SL Irons these feel really good but have only played 4 rounds with them so far anyone else used these? And whats your opinion on them

    24. Cameron Boyd says:

Could you do a review of Benross Golf Zip It Black Pearl Wedge i am considering buying this and am unsure of the quality?

    25. Looks awful! Gimmicky. Typical Callaway as of late.

    26. Robert Allan says:

NIce review Rick, would have been interesting to see how the spin rate differed between the chrome soft and pro v

    27. Well done Rick, love your reviews. it would be great if you could do another review on these wedges with the vice ball that you have been using, just so we can see how the spin numbers stack up with apples vs apples. i would love to see a review with the new king cobra driver and fairways. thanks Rick and keep up the fantastic reviews.

    28. Jim Sulima says:

Rick what's your favorite wedge this year

    29. SirBigSpur06 says:

You didn't seem overly impressed.  Assume these won't be replacing your RTX's anytime soon?

    30. George Bruno says:

I love the wedge reviews I find them very helpful and I would really like to see some more in the near future especially the Nike engage wedges

    31. What happened to using the vice golf balls for wedge reviews?
