Back in February 2023, Transgender professional disc golfer Natalie Ryan filed a lawsuit against the PDGA, DGPT, and 1000 rated productions (the organizers of the OTB Open). This week, a number of court filings revealed more about the case and what outcomes are possible. We break down what these revelations mean in legal terms and what developments we should expect in this case moving forward.

The scores will be whatever they are, and people can slice them and dice them as they wish. First man, first woman, first skinny teen, first player over 35. Nobody goes home unhappy. The course does not care.

I want her to crush the FPO in distance and score, so to prove men are stronger than women. Now, I hope she won't hold back to show that she isn't that strong and is equal to women in strength. Did she get grandfathered( or maybe grandmothered) into the tournament. She doesn't fit the transgender rules of transgendering before Tanner Stage 2 or having a level of testosterone <0.2nmol/L for >2 years.

Is there a pdga rule that states its a "gender" based division and not a biological sex based division? The division was created when they meant the same thing. If the definition of gender has changed…should the pdga not have the right to clarify the rule and state that fpo is a sex based division…hence "female". Quite frankly…anyone taking any hormone supplements should be banned from competing in a sport for money

Transgender women competing in women's sports is relatively new. Shouldn't we err on the side of caution instead of just opening up the flood gates. I don't understand why women are not up in arms on this so I guess I shouldn't either. I predict she will be allowed to play because the PDGA is weak.

Also reading comments about he went thru puberty so he should play with the men. Puberty does not matter. 12 year old boy skateboarders are better than a lot of grown men. I believe the 1st 1440 was done by a 12 year old boy. That 12 year old male kid would win every single female comp he entered, regardless of the age of the women.

This is such a unique situation. Because Natalieās level of play is not as high as one of the top 50 MPO players, itās almost like sheās getting a pass. Imagine Calvin heimburg transitioned and started playing FPO? It would be seen in such a different perspective. The FPO is getting robbed and needs to be protected.
This is insane. The line needs to be drawn somewhere. Feelings need to be put aside, and facts need to be prioritized. This is what cancel culture has created. Itās ruining everything weāve created up to this point in human existence.
The DGPT and PDGA should be listening to the response of the players, not the other way around…

Honestly, this is my first time hearing of this issue or this person in question. Very well done explanation in the video.
I understand that she identifies as a female and that it could be embarrassing to play in a men's division. But I also understand the women that feel she has an unfair biological advantage. Nothing they can make their bodies perform like a biological male. It seems like the fairest solution is to allow Natalie to play in a mixed division for both men and women so biology can be taken out of the discussion. I'm interested to see how it pans out.
He just needs to stop already. Get him out of fpo or the expansion of disc golf as a whole is already off to a very bad start. Really hope he loses this quick so we can get back to the growth of the sport

The biggest difference is that disc golf does not have a Men's division. Anyone can compete in the MPO (mixed pro open)? No one is preventing Natalie from competing except her/himself.
Takes a lot of balls to sue a national sporting organization for trying to protect women and their sports divisions.
He's a dude. Play in MPO. It should be straight across the board for all sports. If you were born a male, you compete in male categories and females the same. Now it's on sports bodies to create a mixed/gender disphoric/other field for others to compete in. It's not phobic. It's about keeping real women's rights.
