  1. Hi Rick, with how far clubs have come in the last 5 years, it would be interesting to see you repeat this test and reference this video!

  2. And yet bryson keep crushing the conventional club ,

  3. PS you also need to mayby increase the weight of the club head and that more mass will also give you more distance with the club… so for example if the club head is say for a 5 iron is the about 244 grams and the club weight for a 8 iron is 280 grams .so if the 5 iron club weight is the same wt of 280 grams then you will have the ball go father the more mass in the club head the more distance you will get and where that extra wt is located also matters the lower on the club head the wt the higher the ball height….

  4. i will say for the average golfer the same length club all with way to the 3 iron from the pitching wedge is the best way to go, i say that because as you were saying starting with the 4 iron you did not get faster club head speed but you did with a half inch longer club. but you would get better ball strike on the same lenght club than on a longer club. a off center strike on the longer shaft club = .05 decress in ball distance if you did not hit the ball directly in the center of the club head,,there for for more consist club strike the shorter club is better.

For me they are perfect because I’ve always been consistent with my 7 iron but always fat my 4,5,6. So hitting 4 iron shorter than a normal length is better for me as I usually just fat my 4 lol. Love them

  6. Hacker 100 says:

Every gap test on these clubs comes up with different results. Hit 'em yourself and determine distances for each iron. Just like "regular" irons.

  7. Jum Broni says:

Clearly one length clubs work or they wouldn't be selling so many sets. Tell your sponsors they are TURDS!

  8. Gee Williams says:

So i'm just trying to work this out and i am struggling. The whole concept of One Length is to make the top end work better. the compromise is the bottom end feels odd and dosent link with wedges. But if they only work to the 7 iron you might as well stick with normal clubs? I really like the idea of one length, and have a one length 4 hybrid so would probably prefer a 5 hybrid then a 6 iron rather than a full set anyway. I'd love to try these, shame you golf youtubers don't give away all your old test clubs you'd make us subs very happy

  9. Love the idea for 3 length set!

  10. mumbles says:

Bryson uses 4 and 5 utilities. That fixes the gapping

  11. rick it shows dont carry 5 iron

  12. Mike B says:

Strengthen the lofts on the 5i two degrees and the 4i two degrees to get a little more room between the two clubs. The 5i would see another 6-7 yards of gap for about 11, and your 4i again sees more gap and overall distance. That being said, in hindsight we hear that the Cobras are a tough club to bend for club builders, so such a change could maybe lower the service life of the clubs. Likely an easier fix with the newer forged versions.

  13. detonatorjd says:

My guess is the loft is factory incorrect between the 5-6. But, the whole reason for the one-length approach is one set up…ball position, backswing length, etc. Point being, if my game gets to the point where I can bitch about carry distance difference of 5yds, I'm gonna have a good day.

  14. What shaft does Rick have in those irons?

  15. Erick Bauer says:

I just played my first round with my new one length irons 38” shafts. I love them. I shot the lowest score of my life. Now to put that in perspective I had four back surgeries in 16 months. I am 54 yrs old 6 ft 2in tall. My lower back is what I destroyed. I have played six 9 hole rounds and two 18 hole rounds this year. First since back surgeries. Today was first day with one length irons. Much more control and easier to hit because same swing 3-p wedge. Lowest score of my life by eight strokes. Only hit driver twice. Used irons off all other tees. I played exactly bogey golf for first time in my life. If your old, limited rotation or bad back these things are great. I know I have lost at least 30 mph in swing speed compared to before surgery. I am sooooo happy.

i just bought a set of these. looking to put in a one length f9 4. call it a day.

Is the decreasing decent angle going to course a problem also ?

  18. GEORGE WOOD says:

Just found this review and I've had these clubs (4-SW) since March, 2017 (7 hcp). They were ordered 2° flat (should have been 60°)…in lie machine, they ranged from 59° (6-iron) to 66° (SW) with most at 62°…have since had them all corrected to 64° after a good fitting. Given this info, I would guess that the lofts on the ones you tested might have also been "off" from specs as well. My clubhead speed with most is around 84-86 mph and I, too, have trajectory and distance issues with the 4-iron especially and am seeking 4 & 5 single length hybrids that fill the bill.

  19. J@D W says:

Peak heights across the set look good. Distance corresponds with lofts. Made some bad swings as number on bottom of club decreased.

  20. freddieq00p says:

Weren't you using a DG X100 for these test? These come with flighted shafts stock to compensate for low flights on 6-4 irons.
