If you are a “pusher” of the club the right elbow pops out, causing the club to get steeper in the downswing, and you end up casting the club, losing lag, and flipping the club. On the other hand, when you pull the club, you create lag, and the club whips through the ball, providing a snapping action at impact. Try to swing the club four or five times with their right hand, focusing on pulling up on the club as it lags behind. This whipping action allows you to be more conscious of your hand path throughout the swing and help you be more consistent and efficient. The hands should work back up and in as the club is swinging down, even though the club is swinging from the inside. Most players try to hit out more end up pushing the club, which is not very efficient.

What drills could you recommend to engrain the left side pull action?
