Spent 45 minutes with my local pro today working on almost exactly this. I have usually turned ok in backswing, but timing of hips during downswing has been challenging. Good to see you and him pointing in the same direction!

Mark from Long Island, NY here. I've been using the stack and tilt style of swing before it was even a thing. Probably since the late 80's. It worked for me but recently age and other health issues have caught up to me. I incorporated your vertical swing/ high hands into my ST swing recently and I'm back to my distances from the 90's. So glad I found you and your instructions. I'm back hitting in the low 80's. Thank you for all you do.

    3. Could you do a video on club head speed taking into consideration knee flex, ball position for the average golfer that has not been fitted for clubs and has had no lessons but love the game, and get tweaks from YouTube channels! Tried different position last game ,further away, lower stance to ball easier swing ,ten more yard distance for all my clubs ! Thanks!

Quick question (from an Aussie) re lack of hip movement. For us 'experienced' golfers, could tight leg muscles also contribute to this problem? Many/most of us have back/hip/knee issues and tight leg muscles helps in our mobility.

Great lessons Todd.Any lessons on coming over the top(outside in)downswing. When I try to come straight down with my arms I hit it fat. Can't compress the golf ball..have no distance..hitting a lot of floaters.Weight feels a little on my back foot at impact. With the Driver golf ball has back spin ball fight is very high.

Great lesson! Exactly what I’ve been working on. I’ve been videoing my swing and realized I’m doing just what you’re describing. Though I’ve been focusing so much on keeping my left arm straight in the backswing, that I’ve been ignoring my right arm collapsing. So even with a decent hip turn, my collapsed right arm has been working against me.

    8. Jeff here from Venice FL. High hands is that part of VLS theory?

See so often with my students. Use same cues feeling trail hip going back and up and hands high or thumbs pointing to the sky.

Phil from Virginia here for my Sunday morning Todd fix. I’ve worked on ‘high hands’ since I first heard you use the term. It has definitely helped me hit more consistently.
