Golf | Stop Pushing Your Putts

Stop pushing your putts. A pushed putt is a result of an open clubface at impact which can occur when your putter face is restricted from its natural rotation. Excessive tension in the hands and forearms, or gripping the putter too tightly, can restrict the natural release of the putter head and lead to a pushed putt. To get your putter face back to square at impact, first allow the toe of the putter to release towards the hole with a slight or natural release. Second, your ball position should be slightly forward of center. If your ball position is too far back, your putter will be open to your target at impact resulting in a pushed putt. By following these tips, you will start your ball on line and begin to make more putts!
