  1. At last, the missing link! …. just back from the range … boom 💥😎 thanks Chris 🙏🙏🙏

  2. As someone who has trouble getting the lead arm off the chest in downswing, I LOVE this video. Just worked on these drills and it made it so much easier to center punch the driver and even saw a jump in ball speed. Will be working on these drills for the rest of my golfing life. 🙌

  3. John Rodgers says:

I like this. In my swing, coming down, I focus on extending the trail elbow BUT maintain the trail wrist angle (not a cast). In fact if you have supple wrists you will likely gain lag with extension of the elbow (speed).

  4. Great tips! Really important to think more down then forward!

  5. Hey Chris, very helpful video, thank you. After a month of daily practice to attempt to fix my swing I've finally realized how important it is to fire the arms. Especially for me being that I am 6'6"
I was wondering if you don't mind sharing how tall you are?

  6. HO. LEE. CRAP. This is what I have been doing wrong, seriously. For so long. I'm not bringing my arms back down, so by the time I hit the ball the club face is wide open, or I'm compensating by casting somehow which if I do hit the ball results and me hitting it thin most of the time. And my efforts to stop coming over the top, I have never considered this, and the way you demonstrated how moving the arms late causes over the top is game changing. Seriously, thank you!

  7. charging99 says:

I have watched to many golf videos and no one talks about this it is all about rotation and obviously we have to come down too. Love the jump position. At address would you consider yourself also in a jump position

  8. Mystic 75 says:

So does the arms drop down towards the ball or more towards your right hip?

  9. jie cao says:

No wonder your downswing trajectory is so steep, there should be absolutely no active power in the arms during the transition.

  10. But why are we taught to launch from the hips (which is right isn't it) and no-one except you explains this mouvement of the arms as clear as you do ??? Great great job ! Thanks

  11. Colby says:

Would this drill work better with a medicine ball instead of a golf bal?

  12. So… if we summarize

    1. Arms swing first, then torso/shoulders turn next = success

    or

    2. Torso/shoulders turns first, then arms swing next = dog shit

  13. Darren Lewis says:

    Brilliant video. Helped loads.

  14. jim lewis says:

The correct use of the right arm fold and position helped me the most, but I agree with other people I use most of Chris videos,

  15. Jj Campbell says:

Video seems to say on the downswing arms and hands to drop to the right thigh area before hitting the ball on the downswing does the weight shift and rotation automatically drop the hands and arms to the right hip thigh area kindly advise thanks for your help Jack

Very good tutorial Chris, explained the concepts nicely. Showing that the golf swing requires a sequence of good moves to produce a good end result. The problem is that one bad move can ruin it all. I liken the golf swing to asking someone to throw a frisby with their left arm and a cricket ball with right arm simultaneously – it can be done but needs a lot of patience and practice.

  17. qvu100 says:

Is this the way to start the downswing? It has been always said using or body to start the downswing first. This pump exercise may lead to hand and arm swing only and it is very bad in golf!

  18. whatever says:

    Thanks Chris. Really needed this.

  19. Carlos R. says:

Outstanding video! This concept helped improve my golf swing…ball striking more than just about anything i’ve ever seen. I really appreciate all that you do!

  20. mike summers says:

Fantastic lesson, not seen any one covering this very important part of the swing,AT LAST ive found the last piece of the jigsaw !!!
Thanks Chris .and as usual simply explained…

  21. mike summers says:

Hi Chris, i had a lesson with a guy which changed my game, which was position 1 then 2 to top of back swing, then allow the club to drop from the inside, before i keep coming over the top..which ive been doing for 40 years uuh !!
I really in joy your content keep it up mate ….

  22. DOOOOON says:

Keeping my back to the target for as long as possible and letting my arms fall down into plane

  23. bryangoggin says:

This is honestly most people's problem/why they slice. It's not the hips and rotation, it's arm direction. PGA pros everywhere are getting this wrong and messing up people swings every day.

  24. Please help me here. You are talking about firing the arms downward. Ernie Els and Justin Rose say they are just dropping the arms. I am totally confused now.

  25. Christian DR says:

    Hi Cris
    One more fantastique vidéo.
I will try it mediatly for thé winter training session
    Thank Christian

  26. Great video Chris. Always wondered what powered the speed in the golf swing. You've explained it amazingly well and it seems that once started the momentum helps open up the lead heap and rotation. Do both hands participate equally in the initial burst of hand speed downward?

  27. Ken Henley says:

Great drill but is there any danger this drill would inadvertently reinforce not turning the hips or not starting the downswing from the ground up which is a common ailment for us amateur golfers (basically making contact with the ball with the hips back to where they were at address)?

  28. Bro time all this up. I had to recalibrate distances. I hit a pw 135 normally with a bad swing I tried this on a par 3 155 to just reach back water I was hitting the water at about 160 with a pw. That paired with a squat and pop motion it was so crispy straight high shots. I was hitting a 56 125 to front edge of green. I shouldn’t get that distance but I’m a big guy 215 bench 335 it was insane though I ended up hitting 30 Shag balls out of my bag 23 of them I lost because they cleared into the water but it was so frigging nasty

  29. Brilliant ! I’ll these 2 the RANGE !

  30. Getting the right grip. Period

  31. leromerom says:

Excellent advise one of the most useful videos I’ve ever seen
    Thank you

  32. Pascal Cadet says:

Great vid Sir! I do this for a while and it has changed my game: easier to produce speed, more consistent and longer shots ! Nice to watch this. Not so many pros teach this!!😊

  33. 1cleandude says:

Great lesson Chris as always spot on! The great Bobby Lopez PGA was the first person to introduce this concept to me years ago! Check out his Two O’clock Drill video and thanks again for your time and expertise!🙏🙏🙏

  34. jeevst says:

I find that works well for my irons. Is it exactly the same for the driver ?

  35. Luc Paquette says:

Also Chris I would like to see another video explaining in detail what follows this « move » that way we will have the complete downswing sequence. Thank’s Luc 😊

  36. Luc Paquette says:

Just a great video….again Chris! A clip from Peter Cowen explaining to Matsuyama that move brought me here to your video. Very well explaned, I'm a 64 years old single digit handicap with the old "Hogan mentality" which everything has to start from ground up. This video brakes apart from it and brings so much new concepts of the modern swing and throw the "spinner" concept into the garbage. Can't wait to start practicing it without hitting ball first to master it. 😊👍

  37. David Wall says:

For a long time I had a low, drawing ball flight, almost stinger like or block right. My ball speed was low, lacked distance and I always felt I was getting to the left too quickly. After watching this video I felt that I had more time in moving to the left, I found my ball flight was much higher, straighter, consistent and with more distance. Thanks.
