How to shoot 72 – start with a 6.

One of the most important thing about single figures is attitude.
How do you deal with a poor start to the round or any poor shots.
You just have to stick at it and trust yourself that you will have good holes later on.

Does standard scratch still exist? I thought that went out with the old handicap system? As for unpredictable golf shot 97 last night after shooting 80 last week… Its a crazy game.. Handicap has gone up from 13.2 to 13.7..

Can't wait for those pesky putts to start dropping for you Simon, great game brill narrative love it

  4. Why to stay positive and turn it around!! Nice round Simon!!🏌‍♂⛳ I know what you mean about how certain holes just suit your eye!! The 15th and 18th would be ones I'd like as well!!

Another great video Sev, well played. You have really improved your game you’ll be awesome come the summer. Well done mate👍

  7. When is the next lesson Simon !! I thought you were rushing it a bit, but then what do I know. Ron

  8. Hi Simon, Great round, its not quite all in the mind but it certainly helps – a great test of character.

Some great shots all over the course. I particularly liked that put on the 11th, you had to aim a good 45° to get it there. Interesting to see that put pull up short on the 16th due to dew!! and I could just hear that tree on the 17th ….. but I think it was Ron's head and thats why he fell over outside the supermarket!!

Great video, well done and have a great weekend.

So true. I find myself opening poorly most of the time before the swing settles down (something I need to work on). Bad and good mood then easily makes the difference between mid-70s or a weekend-destroying 85.

  10. Hi Simon, I hope you are well, thank you for the video, as the game progressed you got better.

  11. Good stuff
    Have always faded your driver?

  12. This is why we stick with you Simon and why you do have a space on YouTube. You are an amateur who knows how to score and score bloody good when the time is right.
There are lessons to learn from you.

Great vid and looking forward to more of them as this year pans out 👍

  13. That is one hell of a round!!! Well done! And with a bit more luck on the greens, you'd have broken 70 (mind you, you'd probably have gone OB on 17 to make up for it!!!! Do you pay extra for good tree bounces???!!!).

It's a very good reminder for us all that it's not how you start, it's how you finish that matters! Plus, if you persevere you can eventually hit a drive where you can throw your club away and just stand and admire it!!!!

Who needs sex, drugs or rock 'n roll when you have golf, eh!!!

  15. I’m weird as well 😂

  16. The disbelief of that monster drive was golden. The emotions in such a moment are very relatable. Great worker round. Awesome 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
