Cebu Island in the Philippines is full of incredible adventures, and two of the best are canyoneering at Kawasan Falls and swimming with one million sardines! Cebu is an awesome place to add to your Philippines itinerary, and to enjoy these two activities we based ourselves in Moalboal. Moalboal is a small town in the South of Cebu with great beaches, fun nightlife, and a very laid back vibe. Panagsama Beach, where the sardines are, is accessible right from town, and the famous Kawasan falls and the canyoneering leading up to it are just a 1 hour drive from Moalboal. We booked both our scuba trip and canyoneering with Jojo South Cebu Adventures. If you want to book the same trip, you can check them out here: https://jojo-south-cebu-adventures.business.site/
The sardine run in Moalboal is an incredible phenomenon. To feed on the plankton in the water, more than a million sardines come together as one big group and swim through the ocean as if they are one huge creature. It is a sight unlike anything we have ever experienced, and it happens right off the shore! We chose to scuba dive to see this phenomenon, but if you are not a diver you can also snorkel. the sardines are only a few meters from the surface, so you can see them with just your snorkel gear if you want! However, if you are looking for the best diving in the Philippines, we highly recommend doing this with scuba gear so you can see the sardines from all angles and enjoy swimming around and through them without worry of catching your breath.
After scuba diving with sardines we geared up for an adrenaline filled afternoon of canyoneering and cliff jumping our way to Kawasan Falls. Canyoneering in Cebu came highly recommended to us by so many travelers and friends, and we are so glad we did it! It was so much fun making our way through the winding canyon and seeing the incredible Philippines landscape as we went, but the highlight of the tour was definitely the cliff jumping. The tour has 7 different cliff jumps, and the final one was nearly 10m (30 feet) which was terrifying and exhilarating! At the end of our hours of sliding down natural-made waterslides and jumping off of cliffs, we came to Kawasan Falls; a beautiful waterfall to celebrate surviving the cliff jumps.

Hey there! We are Nicole and Mico and in March 2021, we quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and began traveling the world! We never thought we’d be making travel vlogs on YouTube, but after realizing that we had a unique opportunity to share our adventure and make the world feel more familiar and inviting to anyone watching, we took the leap and picked up the camera! We hope our videos show how wonderful, delicious, and friendly the world can be.

Absolutely fantastic guys, that's always been on my bucket list of things to do before I can't 😅..but it's definitely more fun in the Philippines, we hope to move out there permanently in the next 18 months from UK, we had a visit and vlogged it back in March this year, it was our first time seeing our retirement home in person, it really amazed us as to how big our house was..
Please feel free to watch if you guys have time, but I love your vlogs, you guys make it so interesting and fun..thankyou once again,
Regards Tim and Jn from UK 🇬🇧
So much fun!!! What ADVENTURE. Thank you for all of us who live it through your ability to capture it for us. I remember when you guys first started. You guys have really done a nice job evolving the quality of your videos. I APPRECIATE that you take me along with you in your journeys!!🤗
this was SO FUN to watch – I felt I was there with you guys (but thankfully minus the real fear of jumping). Were all of those jumps optional? 😛 I think that's the only way you'd get me in there – that 7m one was too much!
Good tip – wear shorts not a bikini – it's not the beach, you'll get scratched all over.
spectacular view from the bottom. wow. thanks for sharing.

thanks for helping her conquer her fear
Too crowded in kawasan doesn't look so bad. I think it is better seeing other people happy and screaming. 🤪
The fact that you were able to scream twice shows how high that last jump was!!!
This must be shot over a month ago? Because right now it's under complete renovation. There's currently no canyoneering operation going on in case people might book a flight there right now LOL. Wait a few months, they're giving the place a long overdue facelift.
inambakan falls . . one of the most beautiful waterfalls in cebu .. .dont missed it
Nicole and Mico, this is such a fun, amazing day with the huge shoals of sardines plus the canyoneering and jumping into the water from the cliffs. What kind of camera did you use and how did you protect it from the water? I'd love to go where you went.
How fun!! Reminds me of a similar thing I did in the Dominican Republic years ago called the "27 charcos". I'll have to try this one out if I'm in that area! Thanks for sharing.
I suggest you check out some of the breathtaking mountain peaks of Cebu especially the triumvirates of Osmena Peak, Casino Peak and Kandungaw Peak which are all located in Badian Mountain Range aka Badian Highlands. From these peaks, you can see both east and west coasts of Cebu and the neighboring islands of Bohol and Siquijor (east coast) and Negros Island (west coast). The easiest way to these peaks is from Dalaguete main highway as the route from either Badian and Alegria have portions badly damaged by typhoon Odette in December 2021 and still under repair. I guarantee you, the drive up there is already breathtaking with the scenic views of the towering mountains.
Easily, this is the best video shots of sardines run I ever saw on Youtube. It is truly epic to see this huge ball of fish from below. It's more magical, more hair-raising, more awe-inspiring and more breathtaking than those videos taken from snorkeling. Thanks for sharing this to the world. You can grab still photos of this video and enter photography contest you would surely win. Keep it up guys! BTW, enjoy more of Cebu if you're still around. Cebu has over 110 waterfalls systems and probably close to a thousand individual falls combined.
Those are some epic scuba diving video captures.
So fun!! I’m with Nicole on this. Have to let it out with a scream! Such an incredible experience!
👌👌👌👌👌👌
Just wanna ask when was this? Cause I thought canyonnering was temporarily closed
you guys are like vikachka and eugene:) loooooooove you guys much much loooove from pampanga
You two really complement each other. Fun loving people.
Have both of you ever thought of owning a property in the Philippines? One of the advantages of a balikbayan.
So that's Nicole's motive for marriage, keep her laughing and its a wife for life, mico has alot of work ahead of him to keep this chuckling funny woman, this trip to the Philippines has done the job,i think she's impressed,i certainly am its great,a beautiful country ✌️♥️🇬🇧 much love
That's going to need a big can for that many sardines, what a sight to see while scuba diving 🤿! Much love ✌️♥️🇬🇧
Such a great video. Such an adventure. You guys are very cute together. Keep living it up. Philippines is truly amazing.
Hi guys.
It is good to see you again ❤❤❤
