Did my first SwingTweak, referencing my flat backswing. Pro said my swing is good, don't change it, here are these pros who have a flat backswing and they're fine. I'm an 11.5 hcp right now, and he said biggest difference going form 13 to 3 is short game. So basically I can now stop second guessing my swing and work on my chipping and putting.

Where are you playing when you come to Scotland? If you're playing links you definitely need to get down to Machrihanish and play the Dunes and Machrihanish Old course, absolutely fantastic courses

  3. Anyway to buy the awesome shirt? And love your videos 🤩

  4. I hit a lot of good shots in my last round, but the one I'm most proud of was on a short par 4 (not reachable) where I took into account that my primary miss could result in an OB shot, took a 6 iron off the tee knowing I couldn't reach trouble with the overdraw miss. Sure enough, terrible shot and the ball ended up sitting pretty in the fairway. I was beaming with pride in my club selection and self awareness.

Congrats on the Michelin star! You do a beef welly?

  7. aj dileo says:

If I play sober, I shoot in the 80's, if I drink, I shoot in the 90s. So I shoot in the 90s.

  8. When are you coming to Scotland??

  9. James Bean says:

Matt, you continue to inspire with concrete advice. You make golf fun!

  10. MJMatt says:

One of the best doing it…..thx Baus

  11. Hey didnt you make a thailand travel series like a few months ago cant find it anywhere

  12. timbleking says:

Thanks Matt for making it as clear for everyone as it is for me since years: driving range sucks!!! Way of the Playa is on the course!

  13. Some of your very best work, Baus-maester! Completely engaging and entertaining. 5 stars! 🦘⛳️🦘

  14. Matt, I spend a lot of time on the range. I think you're totally wrong on this one. You have to have purpose on the driving range; i.e. not rushing, shot shaping, building your routine, increasing endurance and honing your swing. On the contrary, the wrong coach, or too many coaches can really screw up your game and confuse you even more! Golf is about finding what works for you, building a pre-shot routine that is repeatable, that results in consistency. Even a dedicated beginner can improve very quickly if they put their mind to it. I also find that just by watching pros play/swing can teach you a lot.

  15. What course please?

  16. I didn't realize Gary Player had said that.

    Wonderful! 😁

  17. Gary Playa' is my brutha from anutha mutha.

  18. Thanks for the videos! I shot my personal best 74 last week at my home course, thanks to your approach to the game!

  19. matoor54 says:

Matt, your officially my in the head coach! You make all the lightbulbs go on! “That was very crap” LOL😂

  20. You should try playing here in the Philippines

  21. I thought you were my coach matt??

  22. Split Finger says:

    Love these kinds of videos

  23. I love this channel

  24. Matt is literally a golf savant. I have been watching his videos for 2-3 years now and have gone from a low 100s/high 90s player, to a low 80s PLAYA. It's all mental and knowing your game. Thanks Playa-In-Chief

  25. Eric Yue says:

Matt, I just shot an 84. First time breaking 90 all season. In fact I logged a couple 100+ rounds this year. First time in 10 years, not hitting a single OB, hazard, water!

BEHOLD. THE WAY OF THE PLAYA!

  26. Jona Kneen says:

I enjoyed this video Matt, as a higher handicap player it will help me better manage my misses once again. Just for the record, you belted that putt through the break when you spoke about the greens and the grass that had grown into them, hence why I didn't agree when you called it a good putt. Solid playing though, keep it up!

  27. A tip my friend told me that changed the way I play around the greens: stop trying to get up and down. Instead, get up and down down (up and 2 putt). This is better because it takes the pressure off the shot, it’s fun to say “up and down down”, and if you aim for the up and down down, then most of the time you will make up and down which is better than the standards.

  28. Willlllll says:

Loving these way of the playa series!

  29. Jeff Badke says:

"That was pretty crap"…laughter…(translation= whaddyagonnado?) Love it…

  30. As usual, informative and helpful. No swing ideas just real course management. I have learnt to think my way round a course in an effort to improve my scoring as it seems a quicker way than constantly changing things in my swing, etc. It really does work. I retired 2 years ago and am playing the best golf of my life and enjoying every moment out there. Knowing that my colleagues are sitting in an office, looking out the window and wishing they were golfing is enough to make me realise how fortunate I am to get to play all the time. I have had my 'hot streak' moments and I do know they aren't one-offs. I took forever to finally break 80 and now 80 is a poor round for me. Keep on reinforcing this way of playing Matt and I hope that your 1 Iron doesn't let you down in Scotland. Think your putting skills will be severely tested on some of these giant, quick, undulating greens.

  31. Shah says:

    Sensible advice

  32. Bob Carter says:

Matt I’ve taken your advice & have a great golf pro who has been exactly what my game needed. Combined with your course rules I’ve broken 90 after years of being a 100+ golfer. I even recently was 2 strokes from breaking 80. Thank you for showing me the “Way of the Playa”

  33. Chris H says:

The Way of the Playa – hit a 262 yard 1-iron off the first tee to the center of the FW!! 😜🤪

  34. Does anyone know what course Matt is playing.

  35. dougie7056 says:

Matt you should play at wick golf corse at the north of scotland

  36. Khoa yai golf club…love that course. ❤❤❤

  37. Tom says:

Hey Matt, what kind of 1 iron are you using?

  38. Olly W says:

Love your channel. Makes me want to grab my clubs! I had an 11 hole glimpse on a match play game yesterday. Was even par! It was easy breezy as well no risks. Just WOTP. Fairway pitch putt. I know it won’t always be that way but it felt good! Thanks for sharing all your wisdom Matt 🙌🏻

  39. Gotta like Gary Player's Grindset!!👍😀🏌‍♂⛳

  40. Stephen Page says:

The Golfing Zen!!!!!! Love it Matty

  41. l e says:
