Thank you for the great info Don! LOVE the shirt!
Thanks
Alaska in no way depends on these cruise ships.. No ones gonna miss these cruise ships.
Have some class. Get dressed. I miss the old days when people dressed on a cruise. You see fewer and fewer people making any attempt to dress up.
I hope they don't mess with our Ovation sailing in June. The train excursion is the whole reason we got a passport so we could go into Canada and enjoy it even more. Either way, we will enjoy our trip!
An Alaskan cruise is my dream vacation but I know that I will never be able to afford it.
I am on the Discovery May 21st. My 3rd Alaska cruise. I love it. I think it would be cool, personally, to port in Sitka. I have never been there.
Don make your bed before you film.😂
I would still cruise Alaska in a heartbeat
Sitka is a really nice Port of Call.
Four Holland America ships also🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Love it when you show the tee shirts you’re wearing. You should do it mor often.
Skagway local here, we tendered for a big chunk of last year and it was very inconvenient for everyone. Unfortunately White Pass ignored the rock slide for too long and now it's really biting us in the butt. Skagway loves our tourism and we need it after the last few years.
Sitka is a tendering situation, I commercial fish and watch them shuttle by us when we're anchored up. Sitka is a awesome town though, Homer, Seward, Craig. Some in Dutch harbor was talking about a stop there 😂😂
Hey Don, Since you have been to Alaska so many times, could you do an updated video on what you think or the "MUST DO or MUST SEE" things for first time Alaska cruisers? We will be on Discovery princess the last week of June and would love to know what we should be focused on so we don't regret missing out on something "better" than what we chose to do. 🙂
If they keep cancelling more ports , why go?
WOW😮 I feel for the year-round residents in Skagway. The cruise season is the time for them to earn income. Most residents do not work year round😥
Goodonya Don! I tell you what you wouldn't be wearing that T shirt in Sydney today. We've had a cold front barrel in from Antarctica and it's freezing cold. Only 1 runway open at the airport due to the winds. There's been snow in Canberra, on and over the Blue Mountains and in the Southern Highlands. Hopefully warmer calmer weather returns later in the week. Take care😂
I understand weather is out of their control and things happen however ports like Skagway are most people’s bucket list places. We actually only booked because of the White Pass Rail and Mendenhall Glacier with Nugget Falls. I hope if NCL are changing our itinerary it’s in time for us to cancel. We’ve spent our life’s savings.
The way I see it, the problem doesn’t seem to be Alaska. The problem to me seems to be greedy cruise lines that keep adding more cruises and bigger and bigger ships! You can’t blame Alaska for finally saying enough is enough!
I think princess and Holland will have priority over other lines with larger ships
Oh well. Just gonna wait til they figure it out.
I’m glad that we did our first cruise to Alaska a few years ago and got to visit every port as it doesn’t sound fun any more
Seaward, Alaska Haines, Alaska
Thanks.
Don it is bondi not bondy
Going on celebrity millennium on Aug 25. Hopefully some of this will be resolved by then
