Love the way you pronounce Augusta. If you don’t like pimento cheese, that’s okay. ASI glad you enjoyed the hospitality.
The pimento cheese sandwich is just tradition. I had one too and was very disappointed, but I can say that I had a pimento cheese sandwich at Augusta National. LOL Many golf fans never get the chance to go there. I was fortunate that a friend got tickets through a lottery and we were childhood friends who also worked together as caddies when were were in high school and college. Lifelong friends for around 45 years now and counting.
American cheese is shite give me cheddar every day lol
Disgusta GA….lol
All of us Americans hate him
I was assigned to work at Eisenhower at Fort Gordon and lived about 6 miles from Augusta National. I never got to watch the Saturday and Sunday play live but I got to go to the first two days all the time I lived there with my family. I was lucky enough to have the father of one of the Augusta National Professionals who was able to get us passes each year. I was quite a while back and I know that both have since retired. I did play the course when I was a college student and a member invited me and two other students to play there. He provided transport from Fort Benning and we had a blast.
There's a reason it's The Masters instead of The Champions.
Did you notice that at least half of the 'patrons' have badges for all 4 days? I was there on Sunday and my badge was for just that day. These are life long patrons who got there 'membership' years ago. And pass it down as long as the original recipient is still alive. Us mugs who try to get badges through the lottery are probably bidding for less than 50% of the available spectator places. There are many things good about the Masters but this seems suspect.
Patrick is a cheater
when i look back at the Masters pre-70's u notice the greens are longer and slow compared to the current state of the greens. i feel the way to combat length off the tee is to make the greens incredibly fast but i think this has not tempered the longer hitters. as Peter said u can pick a putt that will go in from miles away. the good players have adapted to the pure and fast greens and still hit it long. just my armchair thoughts anyway.
lmao ….you have never seen a pool sweeper before?… the barracuda would make your hard explode 😂
I grew up literally on the fairways of golf courses in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area and went to high school in Pebble Beach. I know golf courses. I know the most beautiful golf courses anywhere!
However, when my wife and I attended the Masters about 8 years ago, after entering the grounds at Agusta National on a Practice Day at about 8:30am I almost dropped to my knees at my first sight of the course. It's majesty and magnificence is simply indescribable, for me at least.
With every angle, view, fairway knoll, creek, green, incredible change in elevation……everything, it just exceeded all expectation and fantasy. It was almost a religious experience.
Some might think this is hyperbole, but I'm dead serious. It's crazy beautiful.
Totally agree 💯 egg salad over pimento cheese all day, every day
Patrick Reed is known to be a sketchy cheat (sketchy college history, plugged ball incident, brushing sand incident, etc). After his last Ryder cup, he was said to pick up the nickname “party of 1” after throwing his captains and teammates under the bus. Lol. He’s clearly not a good person. Guys like Spieth and Fowler have the opposite reputations as great guys that are easy to root for. That’s why he’s not well liked. We don’t mind the brash cockiness.
There is a muni course by the airport in Augusta that is nearly as good as Augusta. Be aware though- Augusta is a crap town.
good perspective. Glad you mentioned Speith, as he represents the unique player who wins both U.S. Open & Masters -precision(US Open) and power(Masters). Reed may represent the typical American in his personality, however it's not how we would like to view of ourselves.
2024,,,Valhalla,,,Kentucky is the best, you'd love that place, bourbon, whiskey, home…
I can associate with his feeling of entering a SPECIAL PLACE! I had driven by the Entrance to Augusta National many times and looked down that lane, but never got a chance until late in life. I finally was GIFTED two badges for ONE day so I took my little 8 yr old Grandson – my only Grandson! As we entered the gate and made our way to the actual Course I could feel excitement building in me! When we stepped off the pavement onto the REAL GRASS – I felt a TINGLING all over! Honestly, it was incredible! TV cannot do justice to the real beauty and layout of Augusta National! There are HILLS !! MANY HILLS! If you're not in good shape you will have difficulties! But, since there are so many people there you get plenty of pauses to rest. I found the "Restroom Expediters" to be friendly and UNEXPECTED! I had always heard The Masters was the most ORGANIZED and well run Tournament – I BELIEVE IT!!! Back when I went the sandwiches were a tad less but still a bargain compared to other venues. I'd love to be able to visit The Old Course someday, but I doubt I'll make – too far to drive from my home in South Carolina!
