  1. On the flicker banding issue – I noted that the Z8 has a 'High-Frequency flicker reduction' feature in the Photo Shooting Menu, which I understand allows fine tuning to individual lighting situations – to dial out the banding. Have not tested it yet, but the fine tuning is extremely fine, and had to turn off for normal shooting otherwise manual shutter speed has a vast scale. This may help but goes it would need some time to set the right level

  2. People have become obsessed with changing their gear every time something new comes out. Are people not satisfied with what they have.

    Congratulations on 20,000 subs!!

  4. Gary Beat says:

Fun, interesting and informative as always. Thank you!

  5. I lost a few lenses to fungus over the years, now keep all my Z kit in a humidity controlled dry cabinet, fingers crossed that does the trick. Compared to a lens it was cheap to buy and costs next to nothing to run.

  6. Can anyone help me please. I have just bought my z9 (wow) it's fantastic but I cannot find out how to set subject tracking in video mode. Any help would be appreciated 👍

  7. Vince Vinnyp says:

It's a shame that Nikon cameras and lenses are not dishwasher safe like Canon and Sony – any Sony and Canon owners watching just remember to use Finish tablets. 😜

  8. Don Bergeron says:

At what temperature would you recommend putting on a Lense warmer

  9. Something that might be interesting is to see what you guys do on your computers to process your files and set them up for printing

Amazon offers the advantage of easy returns and occasionally 0% financing. I purchased my 20 f1.8 Z & 24-120 f4 Z during a Nikon discount period using Amazon’s financing and couldn’t have other wise afforded to. Amazon also occasionally sells refurbished items at a high discount. I managed to purchase my refurbished Zfc for $766 Canadian vs $1200 new. It was in virtually new condition and had about 70 exposures on it.

    I've purchased several lenses from amazon 24-70 2.8 , 70-200 2.8 etc., no issues.

    Z8 on mpb already!

Hey thanks for answering my Z8 / LED stage lighting question today, very helpful info. My plan is to go to Thursday's dress rehearsal for a good test run, then shoot the final performances over the weekend. Also reading up on the difference between High Frequency Flicker Reduction and Photo Flicker Reduction settings.
