Amateur golfers from across the Caribbean descended on North Sound Golf Club for the 35th Annual Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championship for a three-day-long tournament.
Dart proudly sponsored the event, which brought together teams from the Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic, Bahamas and Barbados. A record 18 golfers represented the Cayman Islands at the championship, cheered on by 2022 LAAC Champion, Aaron Jarvis.
“This is essentially the pinnacle for Caribbean golf,” said Francisco Rivera, Assistant Director of Rules, USGA. “And as soon as we have a champion, that champion will serve as an inspiration to other players in the future,” he added.
Cayman’s Holly McLean was crowned champion of the women’s 18-and-under division, while Danny Lyne secured second place in the men’s U15 Division. Puerto Rico were crowned champions in the overall team standings, with Cayman finishing up in fourth place.
Congratulations to all the golfers, volunteers and fellow sponsors for making the 35th Annual Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championship return to Cayman a memorable one.
