  1. He was hitting a green dot compared to a black dot Ping eye 2. That's why it's two clubs difference 😊

  2. Gavin Morse says:

I have Ping Eye 2's and I'm a beginner. Don't get them if your new. One of the most unforgiving clubs sets ever I swear 😭

  3. The ping eye 2 is such a great iron set. They were my irons through high school and helped me grow as a golfer. Where I see modern clubs fail is the feel. They don’t give enough feedback on bad hits. The eye 2’s give such good feedback on off center hits. It helped my learn the center of the club face based on feel.

  4. Mr. GM- The 425 6 iron is definitely a far better 4 iron than the Eye 2 6 iron is.

  5. relic strat says:

To say the 425 has a soft feel is ludicrous, they are harsh and tinny sounding no matter what , you can hear the difference as you are hitting them , I can hear the ball hitting the screen with the eye2 you can't hear anything but the click of the 425 when you hit them .

  6. Bill C says:

Hitting off mats. Not a good test. The turf interaction with the Eye 2s is excellent.

  7. Boone Docker says:

The Eye2 generally came with a 2 and 3 iron.

  8. 3cats says:

I just went to the 425 last season from the eye2, it really is a significant jump in distance and forgiveness. love them

  9. Fat Clyde says:

I think you will find the Ping Eye 2 lofts are standard for that era. What we get now are all over the shop ! Also, that Ping Eye 2 you have looks a good bit shorter in length than the 425 which I presume is your "fitted" club

  10. ANDY BT says:

Have Ping ever made a bad iron?

  11. Ryan U says:

Compares a traditional loft 6-iron to a jacked modern 6-iron which clearly looks like a driving iron. Probably has the loft of a traditional 4-iron too.

  12. Roberto says:

Why don´t you clean the Eye 2s?

  13. Lowtech14 says:

Instead of matching numbers on the clubs GM should have more closely matched lofts and club length

  14. Ryan Baileys says:

"look my 6 Iron goes farther than my 8 Iron" said every golfer ever…….

  15. Rick Vann says:

You compare loft degrees now days not club #

  16. I played with the Eye 2 yesterday. Played them 2 clubs stronger than usual. After a couple holes of getting used to them. The final score wasn't any different than my usual low 90s. Went 52 front 44 back. Only thing I didn't like was the 4 iron even though went almost the same distance as my Rogue ST Max 6 iron…. the flight was low. Off center hits… you'll feel it in your hands lol

  17. georgedart1 says:

Just bought these as a gift to my best mate a beginner I hope they will suit him.

  18. That was an Eye 2+. So about 30 years old.

  19. Scott T says:

The Eye 2 is the true 6 iron.

  20. powercone486 says:

Compare lofts and not club numbers please.

  21. Tony Russo says:

Are you seriously trying to convince people that you’re hitting a six iron 200 yards? PLEASE!!!!!!!

  22. Those appear to be Ping Eye 2 +. Which means they were made post 1989 and do have a slightly (2 degree) stronger loft that the Eye 2 irons.

  23. Mark Barnes says:

It makes absolutely no sense to NOT match lofts when comparing these clubs, despite whatever number may be printed on a particular implement.

  24. Ed Mc says:

Why didn’t anyone say anything about the wrong loft given for the G425 6 iron? He gave the loft of the G425 7 iron 30 degrees!

  25. Paul DiMarco says:

Definately a waste of time comparison. Totally agree with Tltindy… someone has obviously had too many pitchers of coolade and has embraced the new norm. This guy and the rest of the BDE syndrome types is what the manufacturers were counting on when they marketed there “new club technology” as longer when all they did is renumber the clubs. Compare like lofts and you’d likely see very little difference in performance. Why Do you think there aren’t 2,3&4 irons much anymore? Maybe they ran out of lofts??? Ya think??? SMH

  26. I have no idea what you said. You may as well been speaking a foreign language which to me you are because I live in the US.

  27. Thanks, I learned a lot about my new clubs.

  28. Joseph Avino says:

I have black dot ping eye 2 full iron set with wedges & putter. I absolutely love them and my father has brand new t200 irons and our skill set is near exact and you wouldn’t know I’m using 40 year old clubs if you didn’t know better. They are amazing and I don’t think I will dump them. I want brand new pxg irons or new something but can’t fathom the 1200$ plus price tag when my irons function and work perfectly. I do have brand new Callaway jaws wedges and I absolutely love them

  29. mrshiney2 says:

You cannot really compare clubs that have 6 degrees less loft and probably a bit longer shaft just because the number on the heel is the same. I am still playing my eye2's

  30. Nate_Feag says:

Technological advancements of stamping a 7 on a 6 iron lol

  31. strat man says:

New golfer* wondering if the ping eye2 (red dots) are blades?

  32. Matt H says:

Love seeing this. I’ve used Ping Eye 2 for the past 20 years and don’t want to change out my set. Glad to see they can still compete against the newest and best.

  33. chris says:

I still use the eye 2 in 2021

  34. Stuart Crane says:

I must take you to task re lofts! The eye 2 has the correct loft and the new 425 has such a strong loft it’s more like 2 clubs stronger! If you bother to test your yardages it’s simple take the club which matches the yardage you need. I bet the 425 doesn’t last as long in the market as the Eye2!
