What brain and body are doing during a golf swing is reacting to the kinetic energy in the mass of the swinging club head. If the golfer doesn’t brace with additional pressure in the trail leg they will get pulled backwards off balance. The brain in infancy learns to reflexively to do this to keep us upright. If all parents put a golf club in the hands of their kids before they could walk like Earl Woods did they would grow up better golfers. 😂
The most frequently seen swing fault in unschooled beginners is to pronate the lead hand resulting in the club swinging too far inside in the backswing. Why do they do this? It’s their unschooled brains reflexive solution for staying in balance when experiencing the pull of the club for the first time. Realizing this when I teach a new golfer I started holding their club extended in the backswing where it should be 3D space relative to their feet and pulling it with the same force a good takeaway creates. They always get pulled backwards off their feet the first few times but gradually, without any verbal instruction, their conscious and reflexive brains realize: 1) that is where the club head should be swung to, and; 2) they need to brace with back leg and core against that force (like playing tug-of-war with the club to stay in balance. Just getting the club back to the ideal position while staying in balance immediately improves the rest of their swing.
So. To make sure I understand. Weight to the front always. Making the K. But as u swing down u bend ur back leg slightly and drive off the back foot?

Tom you are the best coach ever, and I don’t even have to pay you 😂 Fr tho your tips and drills have helped me so much with my consistency. Was shooting 97-105 pretty consistently (I just started 8ish months ago give me a break) but since I started really watching your videos and started to practice the right way at the practice facilities I’ve been shooting under 100 every round and even broke 90 2x!!! You don’t understand how fkn hyped I was when I realized I finished with an 89 on a par 72 at my local course for the first time!
