In a round recently, my opponents ball rolled up on the green and into a pitch mark created earlier in the day. Since this pitch mark was not created by his own ball, he would not get relief according to rule 16-3. However, since you can repair anyones pitch mark, could you mark and lift the ball, repair the pitch mark and replace the ball?
