In this video, I’m going to share a simple golf tip that can help you hit your shots straighter. Most golfers make the mistake of aiming with the club face, but this is actually a big mistake. The club face can move during your swing, so it’s not a reliable way to aim. Instead, you should aim with your grip.
Here’s how it works:
Find a target that you want to hit.
Place your clubface square to the target.
Grip the club so that the leading edge of the grip is pointing directly at the target.
Make your swing.
By aiming with your grip, you’ll ensure that your clubface is square to the target at impact. This will help you hit your shots straighter and more consistently.
Here are some additional tips to help you hit straighter shots:
Make sure your stance is square to the target.
Keep your head down and your eyes on the ball.
Swing smooth and controlled.
With a little practice, you’ll be hitting straighter shots in no time!

At first I thought you meant aim your grip configuration, not the physical grip.
Thinking about it, I reckon aiming the grip configuration is possiblity a better option?!
That said, we initially set our hands on the club using the face! And ….. the grip is installed onto the club using the face too!
Thanks Alex, great show and advice, your one of the best man
Interesting Concept
Shouldn’t the club lean forward slightly at address?
One of the reasons I get frustrated with all these golf tip videos is that 9 out of 10 times I am told something in the video that isn't what I have in my golf bag. My clubs are one year old and none of my clubs, including all the irons, do NOT have any markings on the grip as you show in your video. Sorry but nothing in this video can help me when what you say is there isn't there for me.
All you instructors talk way too much-hit a few shots to demonstrate -the whole video is talk talk talk.
Wrong! It’s the club face that hits the ball… not the grip!
Great work mate. Will put this tip into play this weekend 😮.
Great, until you replace the grips yourself…….not particularly well.
Nice to know I'm not the only sickooo around,,,,,great job
Great tip. Used it today and it was a huge help.
🐊🏌⛳️🦅🇺🇸👍🏻
Does this go for fairway woods and driver as well ?
Thank you, i will save this video to watch again when I get to golf again after my back surgery.
No marks on my Winn grips
I don't know about this. I still prefer to just square the leading edge to the target line. Choose target line, square the leading edge then grip and rip.
The procedure at 4:55 is wonderful. My natural grip is strong and this moves it to neutral and tension-free. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video. I struggle with alignment. Used these tips today was hitting fairways and greens in reg, knocked 10 shots off easily
Excellent presentation thank you for your time and effort posting this video.
Excellent point Alex about squaring the club face with the grip markings. Recently I put some grips on my irons that have no alignment markings on them. What now?
You should mention grip pressure. Anything more than a 4 out of then is starting to get excessive. I keep it as low as 3 to prevent tension in the hands, arms and shoulders .Tension is a distance killer.
Shouldn’t the club be squared to the low point which would be slightly open behind the ball.
Love it ❤
Very useful tip….i can't say how much i appreciate it…🤝
