  2. Great tips, I think it's really important to just prep your golf bag and check everything in it – clean your clubs, have 2+ gloves in, have enough tees and balls you want to use, charge your gps or range finder (turn off slope mode!), umbrella, rainproof jacket, etc. Just make sure you got all you need and it's ready to be used. You won't have to stress about anythnig gear-wise just before your round, running to the pro shop, you can take it easy, be relaxed, warm up and not have to rush anything. From on-site preparation, I would definitely add to always go to the putting green and just hit a few putts to understand the speed and get the feel for the greens that day.

    I recognize that coach.
a couple other tips I've picked up: count your clubs before you check in. maybe you chucked in a new wedge and haven't pulled the old one yet. and dress your clubs in the bag. big lesson from a recent news story: make sure you have the balls you plan to use, and won't accidentally grab one you don't want to use. so in a nutshell, do your housekeeping, before you play.
