This new golf r or 3 series 330i I know they are different but what's the better car
Now imagine an APR stage 2 on this thing. 0-60 in less than 3 seconds!
I really like the fact that you stick it to VW on the gas struts every Golf MK8 video. Such short-sighted penny pinching on part of bean counters at VW.
Has the understeer basically gone now? Also how is the steering feedback/feel compared to cars like civic type r?

Nice review, although would have preferred to see the MT version, especially since I haven't seen any videos that are not DSG. Agree that the weak point for me, watching these videos, is the infotainment with the touch sliders for volume and temp. Not a deal breaker but disappointing. Love the look as I thought the mk7 was too boring looking. Sounds like the AWD and driving dynamics have been significantly improved with the Nurburgring and drift mode as well.
Mk4 R32 was the only nice R.. this car is trash 🗑

This looks so much better than the GTI. I still don't care for those inverted ugly headlights and bucktooth grille though. Oh well, hopefully mk 8.5 will get it right!
Did anyone else see @4:01 of the video it already has a check engine light on.
Digital dash sucks along with the cheap 4 cylinder turbo. Exterior looks should have gotten better than the mk7.5 but there not even as good as that. Maybe vw will make improvements to the mk9

Beautiful rear exhaust. Thank heavens VW is finally moving away for those horrible fake plastic exhaust. I hate the integrated head rests. The only really off putting issue it the interior noise which is quite intrusive. Great for jaunts around the city, but it would quickly become fatiguing on an all-day road trip.

I love it. Im nearly completely sold on trading in my 2019 jetta when this comes to Canada in late 2021. However ill miss my engine heater, heated seats, heated wheel, heated whipers and so on.
I think the Arteon grill front end design would have been really interesting for the Golf R.
