ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

  1. Superb again Danny… thanks

  2. I've been using my hybrid Adams IDEA 4-iron lately at the range and applying the same setup technique as I do with my irons and I was amazed at how well it connected. Now I see that I was absolutely correct when you were talking about making sure I come up with the top of the stick first and the club head afterwards in this video specifically for hybrids. Thanks Danny, amazing content as always

My uncle says you’re a great YouTube

  4. Don Telfer says:

I had problems topping my fairway woods, but after adjusting my set up so I was putting slightly more weight on my lead side and extending my follow through, I'm getting a lot more accurate consistency with my ball striking. Great advice, thank you Danny

  5. 'set up with ball a club and a half from heel’ you then set up with the alignment stick pretty much touching your heel

  6. Jim Ross says:

I’ve cleaned up my short game, improved my putting and am crushing driver… but since the end of last season I had lost my way with 3 wood and hybrid. Pretty much stopped using them, all together. Really could use those tools in my game instead of having to lay up on par 5s. This drill makes sense. Thanks for the tips, Danny. Gotta get my confidence back with them.

  7. Guy Mazzone says:

Good morning Danny from Maryland !
What adaptation should you make if you find contact mark on iron or hybrid is higher up on the club face, upper half?
Thanks for your help and keep up the great work!

  8. Gregg Butler says:

Following for two years love the simplicity and consistency of the instruction!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  9. Great video Danny. Again , I will try this on the range. My game has already approved a lot. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊

  10. no one is gonna talk abot the title?

  11. Y A says:

    What a season

  12. Excellent Sir Danny ! Last Week topped 6 balls in an Row ! Cheers !

  13. Cool outfit Danny. Another great lesson

  14. jmlee84 says:

Danny you have completely changed my golf thoughts with your swing arc and knowing where the bottom of the swing is. Total game changer for me.

  15. Hi Danny, as always very clear video. The right balance between technical explanation, demo and drill.

I'm still struggling a lot with my wood/hybrid as it is acceptable using irons and driver.
I understand your hands are not always in front at impact. This can be seen when you demonstrate the way you should hit the hybrid by positioning the shaft on your thigh.

Did you already created a video that illustrate the position of the hands at impact depending on the type of club? Is the way the club is built give you the position of the hands at impact? Do you have to force your hand to lead at impact somehow using your irons?

I really enjoy watching your video, thanks for being an awesome content creator and sharing your knowledge.

  16. Danny I watched this video Saturday morning and played in the afternoon had my best round for ages! Gross 89 I’m off 23 hcp The difference hitting my 5 wood was amazing 😊 thank you 🙏 I would love you to do a video on short putts I missed at least 3 less than 4 feet 😩 might be just a confidence thing? once you miss one 🤷🏻‍♂️ cheers Danny.

  17. GolfMatt says:

Always topping my fairway wood drives me nuts

  18. Tim Quain says:

Ok, I love your videos but I have one big question when it comes to driver. If you are striking on the way up, wouldn't the club be on its way out to in? Therefore slicing ball? I've tried your tip on back foot backwards and it works but none of the pros do this. Then the rotation from the trunk, pelvis or arms confuses things again. I think there's a video that could work through all of this.

  19. Fran Serna says:

Danny, I love how easy the swing feels with your suggestions. Today I tried your tips at the course and I crushed a 5 wood 215 yds to within 2 feet of the flag for a most improbable birdie in the toughest hole at my local course (a handicap 1 hole)! The normal version of me tends to top those shots for a whopping 100 yard roll.

  20. Danny this lesson of yours couldn’t come at a better time! Thank you so much for explaining the ball positions for these fairway woods and hybrids. You’re excellent but you must be told that all the time! I’m saving this video! 😍😍👏

  21. Excellent! Thanks!

  22. Ben Williams says:

Any tips for someone already striking down on 22 degree hybrid but experiencing too high of a ball flight / too much spin, how can we take a bit off without losing clubhead speed – Thanks in advance

  23. Chris White says:

Perfect timing this tip. Have a 3-hybrid and just could t get on with it but this video has cleared up a lot of the “why” I could t get on with it. Will put your tips into practice today 🙌🏾

  24. Len S says:

Great tips as usual Danny! Thank you

  25. Mike Skinner says:

I already know this will help me because the man fixed my driver in two videos lol. The main issue I've had, especially when pulling a 3 wood out, is we usually aren't doing that unless we have a lot of ground to cover. For us amateurs that usually means trying to swing out of our shoes and we end up leaning back or dipping a shoulder trying to crush or lift the ball. The best advice I've been given in my very short golf career is – 'let the club do the work'. Set yourself up proper, swing with good rhythm and speed and the rest will take care of itself.

  26. Eric Foguth says:

You are by far the best video/internet teach I have ever seen so easy to understand, thanks you so much

  27. majrminer says:

Danny must be Robert Irvine's brother? They sound exactly the same. Danny, can you start yelling and looking stern while you teach, while telling us harsh truths about why we aren't improving at golf? 😂

  28. Frank Tyning says:

You hit your hybirds like a iron .. quit giving wrong info

  29. Don Ho says:

This is a great go to video when things start to get erratic and inconsistent.

  30. Hi Danny when I hit driver the ball is not turning over right to left the golf ball is going where I am aiming out to the right or the golf ball is going dead straight how can I get the ball to turn more right to left thanks

  31. Always enjoy and learn from your videos. But….when you talk about fairway wood, you say move the ball back a club head and a half, show the placement with the alignment rods, but then when you hit the ball, it’s just off your left heel. I’ll practice to find the best for me but do what you say, please!

  32. Eagle a Par 5 this week.
    284 Yard drive. ( 53 years old )
    212 Yard 4 Hybrid.
On fringe 18 feet to hole. Putt from there to get the Eagle.

I credit Danny with so much. I often take his advice to the range or chipping green when my game goes bad!!
Awesome instruction and guidance to get me back on track.
Shot 78 on a Par 71 course called Miskanaw Golf Club in Alberta Canada.

  33. David Oh says:

First rule should be never overswing.

  34. Played a round over the weekend and on #18 my buddies were checked out, only one of us hit the fairway so we decided to not even look for our hits and went with his. I lined up my 5wood and proceeded to hit the straightest shot ever and it landed on the green and about 12 feet behind the pin, made the putt for par and it was awesome!

  35. Danny – I live your lessons. But in your video with the fairway wood, in your initial setup you had ball a cub head away from left heel. But then every iteration after that you crept more and more to the actual left heel and the actual swing (which you crushed) looked (to me) very close to at your left heel. Am I confused? Thanks

  36. Dean Riley says:

The spray is a huge help for seeing what’s happening.

  37. Hey Danny thats a flat fairway, what about on a slope with the ball above or below your feet….thats where I'm usually at?

  38. Alan Klaus says:

Best of You Tube. Reminds us to double check what we know to do. Instantly helpful without screwing up your swing. Thanks

  39. InVeThis says:

Since starting to watch your videos, I’ve taken 10 off my card ON 9! Thanks for the help!

  40. McQ says:

Once again you've explained and demonstrated this concisely and clearly. I really feel like I can take these tips and drills out to the range today and work on them just as you've shown. Thank you!

  41. Joel Hyde says:

Thanks Danny i was hitting woods all over the place because I had the ball in line with my lead foot. This video will help me the next time I'm out golfing.

  42. CornishMaid says:

Thanks for this video Danny, it’s come at exactly the right time for me, as I’m going to get fit for a fairway wood and hybrid tomorrow morning.

  43. Love your videos, but it seems you're moving the ball up in the stance when you actually hit the ball.

  44. Barry smith says:

As always from Danny another great drill👍
