Golf | Chipping | Accelerate Through Impact

Fully commit to your shot by maintaining a gradual acceleration through impact. You can achieve this by shortening your backswing and allowing your follow through to naturally slow. Avoid a long backswing and then forcefully shortening your follow-through. Instead, shorten your backswing and allow the natural momentum you have generated throughout your motion to carry on after making contact. Don’t make the mistake of abruptly stopping your motion after contact, assuming a short shot requires a short follow-through. If you stop the club immediately after impact, you’re likely to start slowing it down before impact, leading to problems with both contact and distance control. By gradually accelerating through impact and allowing your natural momentum to continue, your contact and distance control will improve!
