Things that help my chip game: whole body leaning slightly forward, more weight on front foot, feet closer together, more sweeping motion and acceleration through the ball, i rarely make a full swing and rather club up to swing less, know my game that day (can i honestly pull off a flop on these lies, probably not, leave that to the pros), actually practice chipping during range sessions (go for those buckets and targets). Pitching is similar, but a combo of this and regular iron shots. Just focus more on rhythm and accuracy, which i like way more than smashing it. Hope this helps Joey!

Someone please tell Joey that he is probably getting too steep with his wedges. My guess is that if he thinks "sweep" more than "hit down" he will find himself making better contact. The steeper your angle of attack at impact, the more precision required to make clean contact. If you are someone who is getting too steep, thinking about sweeping the ball isn't going to transform your swing trajectory into one that isn't still moving down at impact-you aren't suddenly going to turn into that 20 handicapper who strikes the ball with nearly no downward movement and hits low spin knuckle balls. It's just going to give that person a better chance at making clean contact.
