Eastern Orthodox Christians might be more familiar with the concept of the “Toll House”.
It also sounds a little like “The Great Divorce” which is a novel by the British author C. S. Lewis, published in 1945, based on a theological dream vision of his in which he reflects on the Christian conceptions of Heaven, (purgatory) and Hell. The working title was Who Goes Home? but the final name was changed at the publisher's insistence.

For me, the best argument in favor of his authenticity is his stance of humility. His general attitude seems genuine and down-to-earth. But the best argument against it is the fact that he just so happens to be the only person in out of billions who does this work. What’s the point of a single man (and his team) helping a mere 500-600 people (as he said) when in fact many, many more people die in a single day!
This sounds highly suspect. I was intrigued at first, but it got more questionable as it went. Frankly, the praying with non-Christians combined with ambiguous-at-best statements throughout seems to throw the whole thing out. I hope (and trust) Jimmy will get into the red flags next week.

well the bible says to test every spirit to see who it serves… the devil or God….then you can see if it lines up with the word of God…. so, so far there are two crosses…. as the dead can not contact the living…. and two there is no purgatory….and regards to purgatory…. it does not exist and mary does not go down to such a place to get people out of there…. its a lie…. simple as that
Mr. Aken shouldn’t talk anymore with this priest who seems to be corrupted by the devil. The priest should be ministering to living people. “Helping” dead people is only a grace from God to aid in our own salvation; it doesn’t change the soul’s fate once a person has died.
This priest is being distracted from the work Jesus Christ would have him accomplish. Maybe, if he’s supposed to become an exorcist then probably he should start studying for that job along with reflecting upon his own experience and insight.
I was looking for something different to read a couple of weeks ago and happened upon Fr. Nathan’s book. I was wondering if he might appear as a topic on this podcast, and it looks like that question’s been answered! I look forward to listening; I had a lot of the same questions that other commenters are raising while reading his stuff, and welcome Jimmy’s thoughts. 😊

This priest sounds pretty heterodox – I'm very skeptical of the whole story. I also checked out his website and viewed one of his masses. Looks like a typical modernist "feel-good, everybody gets to heaven" kind of situation.
This is fascinating, but I am disturbed by several things. The apparent religious indifferentism and the "flavor" of channeling are only two concerns I have. This spirit definitely needs to be tested. Carefully.
Thinking of all the possible souls who are stuck I have to wonder if there are other people who have this calling.
