How To Hit It Longer … Forever!

Ever hit that 1 shot 30-50 yards longer than any other shot? I bet you have because everyone I ask says they have hit that one shot. What did it feel like? I bet you say it felt effortless, easy, like you didn’t hit anything at all.

So why couldn’t you hit it longer again? Well, on the very next ball you went right back to hitting with your arms. You lost that effortless , easy, nothing feeling.

Wouldn’t you like to hit all of your shots longer in the future? This tip shows you how. It’s easy but you have to do a little practice and so you get used to some new feelings. What I am asking you to do is give me 1 week of doing practice swings. DO NOT hit any golf balls. Do the drill I show in this tip every day for 1 week. Once you do, you will get used to the new feelings and be able to apply them to every shot into the future hitting it longer forever.

There are so many people out there struggling with this game but everyone has hit that one shot 30-50 yards longer than any other shot so it means you have done before and can do it again. This tip will show you exactly how to do it.

I bomb the ball with this feeling almost every shot. Wilson, you’re the best golf instructor I ever seen. You describe my swing and problems more than anybody I ever seen. Thanks!

  2. Great lesson. Will practice this every day for a week and see the results. Thxs

  3. I shot 73 at Colony West from the back tees many years ago in Tamarac, FL. About 7150 yards. It had a rating of 75.1 and a slope of 141!! A beast of a challenge. In Florida the ball doesn't fly as far because you're at sea level and the air is thick with humidity. In the spring the winds are crazy. If you can score in Florida, you can play just about any where. I shot a lot rounds in the 80s there and countless rounds in the 90s. I remember on several occasions of swinging and NEVER felt the club even make contact with the ball. It was like a hot knife through butter. The clubhead made dead center perfect contact with the ball. It really was EFFORTLESS! I was never long off the tee, but I was accurate and I focused on my short game a lot; Pitching, Chipping, Bunker Shots and Putting. I beat a lot of people, and it almost always happened around the greens. I've had one "hole in one", 2 or 3 eagles, holing out from the fairway.

Sorry…..would swinging an orange whip help with this?

You're a genius Paul! I am not at 280 to 300 but at 63 I am 220-230 and this is early days! My issue is I am struggling with irons…

Out of 3 golf teachers, Dan Grieve's chipping lesson with Rick Shiels, Golf Sidekick's rule of 12 lesson, or Paul's videos; it is Paul's videos that have benefited me the most. Admittedly, as a beginner, it does get confusing on which teacher's techniques or ways are best. They all seem different.

  7. Hey Paul, I found a hardcover book you are in…. If I send it to you will you sign it? BTW I love the content. God bless you

Whats up with the airy voice?, golf whisperer…

I am thrilled that you never deviate from the one principle that all golfers must eventually conquer if they are ever going to be good, i.e., no hands and arms in the swing. Many of the other on-line instructors never, or hardly ever, even mention that you shouldn't use your arms to swing the club. In fact I see some that are coming close to encouraging a pull with the arms. I first found your videos about 10 years ago when I was 75 (and a very bad golfer). Now, because of your instruction, I'm 85 and have shot my age or better 203 times. I feel like the $100 I paid you ten years ago should have been $1,000 (but please don't get any ideas!). I have encouraged so many golfers to start watching your videos, including one yesterday who immediately got on his phone and subscribed. So, one golfer at a time!

  10. Im already getting use to the feel you describe here. Thanks Paul. Im curious if this drill might help prevent me from coming out of my shot too early. That seems to be my nemesis right now.

  11. John Lacki says:

    great lesson Paul

  12. Hi Paul! When practicing, should I be trying to keep my lead arm straight, or, does this effortless swing allow for some elbow bend? Thanks!

  13. Jeremy king says:

Perfect for my stage of getting it embedded. About 50% of shots so far. Bit more work. Great tips and reinforcement.

  14. I hit a 353 yard drive before and it felt effortless. My pairing partners were like, (expletive) how’d you do that? And I would tell them, “I do not know.” Lol.

  15. TMacD says:

    Great tip Paul. Thanks you

  16. I've got the driver down from practicing the about the ground drill like my baseball swing. Need to get it done on the irons and fareway woods.

  17. Chris says:

Speaking of this tip, I was slicing and pull hooking my driver for a couple months and couldn't seem to fix it. Until yesterday, I just wanted to see my grip pressure to the point where the club seem like it will fall out of my hands, and to my surprise, I hit it straighter with the same distance as before. I need to incorporate this tip all the time. My iron play needs to improve now….

  18. Steve Taylor says:

Thanks Paul – I'll get working on these; that all makes sense!

  19. PRANESH CR says:

    It works very well 👍

  20. Hammer says:

I tore the pronator teres in my right forearm (right handed golfer) during a round last month because I swing with my arms. After eight weeks of rehab, I’m about to start playing again. I have to to completely rethink the way I swing a golf club. This video was very timely.

  21. Minh Dang says:

My 6 y old son plays with us now and is now doing 80 yd irons🤔, we love you Paul😘

  22. 2th Doctor says:

Loose like a goose with your arms and grip

  23. ERIC HOWARD says:

Hey coach hope all is well
The effortless swing has transformed me now I am walking nine holes my legs are getting much stronger now of course with a little Meds and it slows me down more time to think about the shot and controlling the ball it's going well once I started taking your lessons I realized I was beating myself up.
And to be honest with you I was out one day playing by myself just fooling around 😮and I say to myself let me try the swing that Mr. Wilson is talking about when I finally hit one on a long par 4 down the middle and I was left with a 90 yard shot to the green my eyes were open it felt weird not all are like that but that day was a game changer for me more straighter shots and better scores for me 😊
Even now I use your chipping ratio video for when I'm chipping and the results are indeed awesome 😎 even when my swing is off I know how to fix it I go to my wrists. My wrist has gotten stronger as well . Thanks for all you do 😊😊

  24. Len S says:

Paul, is there exceptions ? like deep rough or a bunker shot ?

  25. swardmusic says:

Theres a lot of golf lovers in the world that need 10:28 on a loop every morning.
    That includes me. 😜😂

  26. swardmusic says:

Paul i think i found one of my big issues with tightness and it was not allowing any radial deviation in lead hand in transition. That part of my wrist was locked up too. When it's loose you can feel and see for lack of a better term ' lag' in the club. Do you have a video on this? Maybe similar to when you talk about feeling that pressure in the wrist at the top that we would not be used to?

  27. Awesome instructions l am left handed and still fine it difficult 😢

  28. rlogue06 says:

Love the tip! Thanks for the great content.

  29. K Everett says:

Paul I have been watching your videos for sometime now and have tried to apply this and haven't had any success. I have an arm swinger for so long it seems impossible to stop. I'm a 4 handicap and probably doing that on athleticism. Never am I consistent. I play at least twice a week and at the range 1 or 2 days. When I think I got it, I don't. Any other suggestions? Thanks

  30. I hit the ball wrong so l need to keep trying 😢

  31. H says:

Been trying the effortless swing for two years but just can't get the distance. Still only carrying 200 yards off the tee (but way straighter though).

  32. 0331 says:

You encourage swinging out to 1 o’clock but try to get extension in front?

I try to make sure my right arm stays under my left arm to get an in to out and not over the top swing. Noticed though, some are now straight right by just a tad because of the 1 o’clock swing thought.

Been watching your videos awhile and had, not one, but two 320 drives in same round. Just gotta get it more consistent because neither was on the 285 yard par 4 which woulda been nice😂
