Mine is the 20th anniversary. Totally different car in Ring mode. Buy an engine cover from USP Motorsports since mine didn’t have any because of the recall. Infotainment is a pita but who cares. Race mode opens up exhaust valves too. The exhaust on that one sounds like crap. It’s as good a car as my 2020 S3, and it has cooled seats and heated wheel that Audi won’t give you.
Apparently this is supposed to be a "luxury" feeling hatchback. Just a shit ton of cheap glossy plastic absolutely everywhere trying to look sleek but only going to blind you with the sun, attract dust, fingerprints, and get a bunch of hairline scratches. It's preowned for a reason. The touch capacitive buttons are trash with a laggy UI and VW admitted it, going back to real buttons in future models. Of course it's a VW, electrical problems is a feature.
Solid review, Ben! Glad to see there's a journalist out there willing to review both transmissions in this car. It's a pretty different car depending on which transmission you choose.
