Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

The lofts have gotten much stronger! A 5 iron used to be 30 degrees. Rick, when you test and play you comment on the sound of the strike. Would the sound be different if you used a different ball. When Taylor Made test their irons , l would think that they use a TP5 as Titleist would use a ProV1. Could you comment on the different sounds with the different balls? As always thanks

I'm waiting for the T850's to come out. That should be able to accommodate my game right now
While I can understand that visually testing indoors shows more o us the viewers ref his target, projected landing and roll etc. I much prefer seeing clubs tested on grass. Indoor mats will hide slight miss hits.
Would be good to see Rick test clubs side by side with his own clubs and here he only had three irons with which to use.
Sadly golf appeals to many magpies and ego’s, the new shiny new thing is a must have. Play irons targeted at a lower handicap than you actually are cos they look good in the bag, trying to buy an improved game.
Note that some web sites already discounting these irons! Even though won’t land till end of August. £1250 down to £1070 still works out at £153 a club
Id love to see a review of the Takomo irons.
Would have been a more fair comparison if you tested against the 2023 P790.

i can use any BEST iron and still fumble my shots…. its in your swing guys…. no matter what club you are using…. i am not buying

You didn’t say how much a set was!! How much are they. Stunning iron but i agree its very close between the P790
38.5 degrees 9i. PW at 42/43? means 4-5 wedges in the bag? 😢 4i is 22deg. Gapping could be an issue, but prefer these over the TM. Rick may struggle to beat his dispersal numbers.
Can’t be comparing the old p790s against the new T200s, get a comparison with the new clubs done!
Great content Rick but I’m missing a bit of different shots, high/low.. adding the test on workability will be very interesting as you were doing on the past so we could have a more accurate opinion on what equipment actually does.

I bought the previous model in 2022 and was never really happy with it – despite the fitting. Have now replaced them with Takomo‘s 101 and am happy with these clubs. Looks better. Sounds better. Performs better! 15HCP

Why is Rick using a 2019 P790 to compare to a 2023 Titleist – come on Rick you can do better than that!! I have the 2022, which looks better than 2019, and the 2023 is a refined version of the 2022. Admittedly the T200 does look good! I’m keen to try the new T200 although the 9 iron is 1.5 degrees stronger than my 790. Not so keen on chasing distance at that end of my irons.

Both these sets of irons come in at over £1200 can you think of an alternative that's maybe nearly as good that are cheaper? 👍⛳

I think the comment re the p790 and t200 being twins was for me at least strange, i say this because i have gamed both and in feel off the face they are worlds apart, the t200 feels soo much better for me. BUT i will caveat that with the fact that the shafts in the irons were different, so i expect this will have made a considerable difference.. great review as always, and agree maybe you could consider these with some t150/t100 combo
