Certainly there are many reasons why people would go missing; Bigfoot, Homicidal maniacs, Alien abduction or just simply getting lost and perishing… I am a Christian. The scriptures talk about a phenomenon known as the Rapture. Where, certain chosen people are taken up into the heavens by an invisible and Holy force whereby being spared from the troubles coming upon the future world… The scriptures talk about 'there will be two in the field; one will be Taken and the other left behind'. It also states 'pray that your flight will not be in winter'. I would assume that if some of these disappearances of people who just seem to vanish in plain sight, within minutes of being seen be loved ones, never to be seen again could be explained by the Rapture. God only knows. It's interesting that the Scriptures talk about flight and praying that it may not be in winter. This sounds like a person being taken up suddenly into the atmosphere into the Heavens where obviously it would be more unpleasant and uncomfortable in the wintertime! I just find the Rapture possibility an interesting and plausible explanation for the vanishings that are absolute! They have literally been taken out of this world and spared a whole lot of future suffering that is to come…
