Thank you for the Mamrie’s-eye view of the Writer’s Guild strike. It’s REALLY helpful to understand what this means to your life and compensation for your work, alongside the big wave of changes that streaming media has wrought on how entertainment gets made. Thank you for that :).

The fact that you’ve been so busy the past six weeks while pushing through your script under the deadline is damn impressive, Mamrie. Good for you.

Gotta tune your AI fraud checker to "Mamrie"

  18. Steve Reber says:

    She's a low talker

  19. Harry R says:

My mom almost exclusively watches The Today Show, The View, and both the national and local news every single day. I know that's somewhat common for boomers, and I'm definitely all for staying informed. But it's like, damn…. watch a comedy or SOMETHING every once in a while, that shits depressing!

  20. Steve Reber says:

When I flew to Hawaii, the lady I sat next to was VP of Hawai'ian airline who flew first class free, but they were overbooked, and she wanted to keep the whole fare (for the airline) so she moved back with the commoners and the stewardesses treated us better than your server's family.

  21. Steve Reber says:

Grace, In Hawaii the cave is where you find the "cursed Idol", ask Pete Brady!!!

  22. Steve Reber says:

In 1967, the Smothers Brothers did "Ghost Writers in Disguise" I think they claimed it was OK because they paid their writers way better than "the new ask"

  23. Steve Reber says:

I am 62 and when CNN went to Lemon ,Poppy twin airheads, I made a concerted effort to just not get up until after 9AM. Watching at least half of Seth Myers before bed

  24. Default User says:

Zoom picketing gave me a laugh.

  25. Diddled 😂😂😂😂😂

  26. sarah kay says:

anyone know where we can stream their episode of bar rescue? it’s not on paramount+ yet or at least i couldn’t find it!

  27. Alex Brunk says:

The second movement of Tchaikovsky's Fifth REALLY gives me "Foreplay to COMPLETION" energy.
(so does the "Letter Scene" in "Eugene Onegin")

  28. I thought the exact same thing, that the 80 for Brady crew was going to Italy.

  29. RE WGA- I saw that part of the writer's strike asks is to prevent the use of AI in the industry, which is wild thats where we are. In honor of this I asked chat GPT to write a this might get weird episode and this is what it spat out:

"Welcome to "This Might Get Weird" – the podcast where we talk about everything and anything that might make you raise your eyebrows. In this episode, we're going to explore a topic that's both fascinating and bizarre: the world of competitive eating.

Yes, you heard that right – competitive eating. It's a sport that's been around for centuries, but it's only in recent years that it's gained mainstream attention. And with the rise of social media and YouTube, competitive eaters have become celebrities in their own right.

Our guest for this episode is none other than Joey Chestnut, the reigning champion of the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. Joey is an absolute legend in the world of competitive eating, having won the contest a whopping 14 times in a row. He's also set numerous world records, including eating 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

Joey joins us to talk about the world of competitive eating – from how he got started in the sport, to the grueling training regimen he goes through in preparation for contests. He also shares some of his wildest stories from competitions, including the time he accidentally swallowed a whole chicken bone during a contest.

But that's not all – things take a weird turn when Joey challenges our hosts to a mini-competition of their own. They'll have to race to finish a plate of hot dogs in under a minute, and the loser will have to eat a mystery food item chosen by Joey.

As the clock ticks down, tensions rise – will one of our hosts be able to out-eat Joey? And what will the loser have to stomach? You'll have to tune in to find out.

Things only get weirder when Joey reveals his secret talent: he's also an accomplished rapper. He treats us to a freestyle rap about the joys of competitive eating, and even invites our hosts to join in.

By the end of the episode, our hosts are full of hot dogs, laughter, and a newfound appreciation for the world of competitive eating."
