Can anyone tell me the lofts of these clubs! Just bought a set 2-pw including the 10 and would like to know the specs for gapping.

I bought a set of these irons and contacted YONEX to get the specification of loft and lie. Despite emailing them twice they didn't respond. Anyone know what they are or know how to contact Doug Houghton of Citrus Heights California who was mentioned in this video?
    Thanks.
    Mike

  6. Picked up a 5-SW for $55 plus shipping online with the gold boron shafts. I took them to the range and wow, what a powerful iron with a beautifully high ball flight, and man are they pretty to look at. Debating bagging these this year.

  7. Like Shaun Foley posting earlier I too have bought a set off eBay UK,lefty version, arrived this morning and was delighted when I opened the package.
To my (old and old-fashioned) eyes they are how irons should be,clean lines, narrow topline,no bells, whistles or shiny badges, good length ferrules, overall a classic design.
Courses closed in UK but managed a few chips along the carpet!

Brought a set on eBay uk today after hearing nothing but great reviews, can’t wait to go down the range. Does Doug fly over to England so I can get my clubs perfect

  9. Look at the club lie at 1:58 and see only the hosel is on the turf, the toe is two to four degrees upright, OFF the turf! They should be flat at address. Whoever adjusted these needs to see that. How can you keep from hooking these if the hosel hits the turf first and turns the clubhead?

I have a full set of these clubs and I love them. My dad bought them in the late 80s or early 90s and he gave them to me. All of my friends have modern game improvement irons and I compete head to head with them. The thing I don’t understand is why today’s manufacturers have tweaked the loft and lie so that a vintage 7 is an 8 or 9 iron today.

These are excellent irons, They are still Graphite Shafts, they have a Boron plug in the center of the shaft in the tip section. I have a set of pulled LTB600 shafts around the house somewhere and remember seeing that boron plug in the tips during reshafting. I have a set of these as well and they are dynamite clubs. I even got a set of the shafts and put them in a second set of irons. They are some of the best feeling clubs ever. Not the most forgiving though, fairly punishing even. Thanks for the video!!

I have 2 sets of these irons and they're the best irons I've ever hit. They're buttery smooth and deadly accurate. Looking down from the address position the club looks like a MB because of the iron's very thin top line. Yonex did something with these clubs I haven't seen in other iron sets the sole of the club is narrow by heal and slightly widens toward the toe. The LTB600 shaft feels great and on its own could be sold as an up grade to most modern graphite shafts. Yonex made a great club when they made these. My first set didn't have the 2i or the SW. While looking for those I found a set that had both for a good price so I bought the set. Yonex included a 10i in the set which plays like a normal PW and the set PW is more like a normal GW. These clubs are one of golf's best kept secrets. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I have.

Definitely hang on to those irons. Don’t change anything about them. Except for the grips. I’ve noticed a lot of guys are going back to playing irons from the 80’s and 90’s. Currently I’m playing with some Ping Zing 2’s. You’re right the courses haven’t changed. The golf balls are much better and fly truer. I’m irked that all the golf manufacturers are hell bent on stronger lofts. We’re not stupid. A 7 iron now use to be a 5-6 iron. Now they do weight them to get the same height but for me it doesn’t matter. If I’m hitting a 7 iron 150-155 yards I’m happy. If I’m driving it off the tee 240-250 in play I’m even more happier. Well keep up the good work.
    Keep it in play.

Nice going Knackered. In the eighties I had a second hand graphite head and shaft Yonex driver. Got it on vacation in Myrtle Beach. I hit a 325 yard drive with it! I sold it a year or so later to buy a brand new set of Hogan edge GS Irons
