You gotta turn – but the right way

This video is about the rotation in the golf swing. So many Golfers are struggling with the turn – why? First because they think the turn in a wrong way and and then they also do it too much. The issue of moving the head up and down, mostly is result of this as well. Thanks to the hula hoop tire, it’s fantastic to visually demonstrate. In this video, I clarify why the head moves so much for many people, why the rotation is rather counterproductive for most. Take a look, I’m sure a penny or two will drop!

Enjoy and have fun practicing !!

Martina, really got a lot out of your explanation. Where do I find more instructions in English? Thanks.🇨🇦

Very good explained and I usually tend to fall back to old habits. Focusing at shoulders is for me too indirect, shoulders have some degree of motion and can be cheated with. The core thing that helps me differentiate either moves is that the right side of my ribcage need to move more upwards. This will directly activate the large muscles.

Martina – a great way to explain the difference between “turn” and “rotate” – especially when “shoulder down” is dismissed as
S&T witchery and the “new way” is stay centered and turn/turn/turn hard! Love it!!!❤

  9. Great explanation along with visual representation> please do more videos !!! Thank you.

  11. Great explanation. Thanks for that Martina just what I needed with where I'm at. Eric

  12. Interesting, I will try this next time I am in the driving range…it might solve my excessive ball height shot…

I was a strong competitive tennis player but really struggled with golf until recently. After years of listening to golf professionals, reading books ,etc. my swing looked like I was trying to kill a poisonous snake with a club. It was so stiff, so inconsistent, I quit playing for years at a time out of frustration. Last year I decided to give it one more try by throwing out everything I had seen and heard about the golf swing and incorporate the natural feelings and motion of my tennis swing. Your video is the exact transition I ended up with. I was pleased to see the confirmation, as well as the positive results that have me enjoying the game for the first time in years.
