3 DRILLS TO SHIFT WEIGHT FORWARD

In this video I will be demonstrating and explaining 3 great drills that you can do to give you a sense and feel for how to properly shift the majority of your weight into your lead side. This is one of the most crucial skills in golf that can be directly correlated to a players skill level and how well they can strike the ball.

because of hip tightness and inflexibility every time i try to get that weight forward i go into early extension–i ll give u one guess what happens after that

    Great great advice

I like your instruction but I believe it would be easier if you push the left leg back which turns your hip and allows better weight shift.

  6. Walk thru the drills in slow motion.

Really great drills, I play monthly tournaments with lots of HIGH handicap golfers. All 3 of those drills reminded me of different buddies who could use the drill to help them consistently strike the ball. Great, simple, informative video. Cheers!

I've been practicing the pressure shift for a few weeks now and when I do it correctly I get solid contact but the most difficult thing is trying to keep your head behind the ball and impact without moving forward with your lower and upper body

  11. James J says:

Wow. This is simple but great. Thanks.

  12. Super excited to try these drills. I REALLY struggle with weight shift, and never take a divot after the ball. Its like i know what i need to do but my body resists on the down swing. My weight is always on my trailing toe as i finish the swing.

The first drll makes me want to be a stack and tilt convert. The second hard to do, and the third I still find I'm hitting scoop/flip hooks. Would love your comment Jonathan on my Stack and tilt observation.

Great drill thank you! I sometimes feel as I’m not shifting enough weight to my trail side (my weight stays central during the upswing and shifts to the lead side during the downswing)
