I've recently started using my 9 iron on some holes and the result has been brilliant. Still favour my 60 degree and float it up 🏌‍♂️

  2. Andy, great video. It is very much how I play. The thing I do differently is that I do not like to bump-and-run it over the fairway. I will always try to start the run part on the green. To much can happen running it on the fairway

  3. Definitely a pitching wedge landed about half way and let it run. But where I'm playing in Australia it's pretty dry and windy so the fairways are hard and running and the greens are hard and slick.😊

  4. Martin Ross says:

7 iron for me as my chipping with anything more lofted is a lucky dip where it will go 😂

  5. tx52dave says:

High floater with a 60. Open the face and use the bounce, it lands like a dead bird. That's my choice because it's comfortable for me.

  6. From 30 yds to that type of pin position, I'd usually use my 56 degree wedge with a mid to lower flight with some spin.

  7. Slow Hand says:

Not only a little bit vertical with the 7 iron – much more up and bottom out – easy shot!

  8. Great video. Important to have a range of clubs and methods. Like the idea of using similar routine and stances as it gives you something to fall back on and less variables to change the better!

  9. 58 because I'd prefer to manage distance than guess how the ball will react to a low shot across the apron

  10. Shamrock says:

I would probably play a low 8 or 7 iron.

  11. Jay Listed says:

I'm doing a °56 spinner. Kind of low with a couple of skips and hopefully drop in the hole or stop right next to it.
Thanks for the upload! A friend of mine just started golfing and I've been sending him a bunch of your and Finchy's videos. Now he's subscribed to both! Thanks for helping to grow the sport good sir.
Love and good vibes to you and the family Mr. Carter.
    Cheers from the States!!

  12. Brent D says:

I have a question. Idk if it happens to just me and Rick Shiels. Lol jk
But seriously my question is when I hit my wedges sometimes they just go way too high with no distance. Am I catching them too far behind and scooping it? Idk maybe it'll be a good video idea for you. It doesn't happen to me alot but here and there.
Oh and on this shot I'd probably play 54° regular shot and and let it run a little.

  13. Guy Davey says:

Probably 52 degree and 2/3. Depending on slope etc possibly pw if enough green to work with…

  14. High option – I'm trying to perfect the one that carries almost all the way and stops very quickly 🤞. Any tips?
If I want to run in one I use gap wedge but with a baseball grip which gives a nice running shot

  15. John V says:

When it comes to short game choices, for me it is always the lie that drives the selection

  16. Lexx White says:

Any drills you can recommend to stop getting slappy and pulling chip shots?

  17. Derek Brown says:

Pitching wedge back in stance 15 feet short let it run up

  18. Malcolm A. says:

For me its a choice between #9 iron or my 50-deg wedge from that distance.
After that its usually a decision on the length of back swing to suit the distance & pin elevation And a quick prayer to the golf gods of course.
    Great vlog Andy – cheers

  19. Pearie Jones says:

Excellent instruction. I have really concentrated on applying your technique and Dan Grieve ( spelling maybe terrible) you two have transformed my short game into a confidence! I am scoring less bogeys this year! And yes I practice pitching with a 53 and a gap wedge 2 X a week.

  20. Looks like a 52 degree I'd try to chip up low. I don't practice the 8 iron-PW enough on shorter ones to know the roll out but I know my wedges. Landing it on the front fringe or front edge of the green looks about right to run up towards the hole.

  21. I vary between 7, PW, 54 & 58. It depends for me on how well I'm striking the ball on any given day. Probably my go to would be my PW or 54

  22. Excellent demonstration Andy on how the chip shot reacts to different clubs! It appears that you are more comfortable with the SW and LW. I alternate clubs predicated on where the pin is located. A deep pin placement would warrant a 7 or 8 iron. Mid placement would be a 8 or 9 iron. Close in pins would be SW of GW! On the mid to deep placements, I like more of a low running type shot. On the close in pins, more of a lofted shot. Good job as always Andy!

  23. Pearie Jones says:

54 front of stance high drop 2/3 to the hole rollout up

  24. Daniel Honor says:

Low runner with 9-PW-or 50 deg base on lie and conditions…lots of good vids lately….keep it up….hope your family is doing well
