How To Hit A “Stinger” When You Need To

Rory Mcilroy put the “Stinger” golf shot center stage on his way to winning the Scottish Open last week. @TheForgottenGolfer thinks the average player can also add a version of this shot to their tool box. It’s a shot that travels very low in comparison to your “normal” shots. It’ll cut through a stiff wind and roll forever on a tight, firm fairway that can be receptive to a rolling golf ball. You don’t have to be a Tiger Woods to benefit from this shot. It’s about control and keeping your ball in play. It doesn’t matter if you hit it off the tee or approaching a green. The course and weather conditions usually dictate if you’re ready to use this shot or not.
