  1. Peter Jacobsen is funny and has good taste in music… however, McIlory will be lucky to win just one more. It’s called math. Particularly statistics.

  2. Jon Friedman says:

Rory chokes in pretty much every major now. His best scenario was this British. A few strokes behind and no pressure on him and he can play fairly free in Sunday. He could win a few majors, but his window is not as open as 3-4 years ago.

  3. G Todd says:

    PGA posterboy done!!

  4. Cwm368 says:

Rory isn't winning for or 5. He's 34 already. He may win one or two more.

  5. WELL UNTIL HE CUTS OUT THE MISTAKES LIKE THAT WEDGE IN THE US OPEN AND LEARNS TO SMOOTH WEDGES AND MAKE PUTTS THAT MATTER HE WONT WIN ANYMORE, CAN ANYONE IMAGINE TIGER EVER ENDING IN THE FACE OF THAT BUNKER WITH A CHANCE TO WIN A MAJOR…. WE HAVE TO FACE IT, TIGER WAS A ONE OFF AND NO ONE COMES CLOSE AND NEVER WILL.

  6. Rory hasn’t closed the deal as of “late”. I’d say so, it’s been 10 years. He is insufferable to boot.

  7. Kevin says:

More to winning a major than driving the ball 400 yards.

  8. RORY WILL NOT WIN ANOTHER MAJOUR

  9. Alex Young says:

I am so sick of people let alone analysts saying that Rory is the favorite every damn major for a decade. It's been 10 years for crying out loud. How is he always the favorite. Like honestly. PS he's cursed ever since during his caddy that helped him win ALL of his majors.

  10. I Ldblm says:

Hitting the ball as far as possible is not always the solution, especially not in bad conditions – one club less and hit it straight will often put you in a better position. May even give you that extra shot you need on the greens for a three-put. 👍

  11. shuzzbutt65 says:

To me Rorys trouble is he just tries to hit his drives as far as possible, he should slow down, take a 3 wood perhaps, make sure the ball is on fairways then go from there, he is good enough, but is he sensible enough. Harman just plotted his way around, hit the right shots and won, for a good player-easy.

  12. Putting wins tournaments and majors, everything else is just for show. If you can’t putt, your not going to win. Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are the two best putters to ever play the game, that’s why they have so many majors, it’s not their driving or iron play, it’s short game: pitching, chipping and putting. 100 yards and in.

  13. Stephen D says:

I called this exact headline after he lost on Sunday. The disappointment fades fast as the hype machine continues now that Rory for some reason is the face of golf since Phil left.

  14. Rory is 34, he has 16 more years until he is 50, eligible for the champions tour. He has plenty of time to win more majors. I think he will have 8, maybe 10 by the time he retires from golf.

  15. wreckim says:

The long game, like Rory's, will keep you in contention consistently…but you need the short game to close the deal. Short game exploits are kind of a one-hit wonder–like Cam last year, and Harmon this year. Unless your name is Jack or Tiger.

  16. McIlroy has lost 35 majors in a row. So, seeing him win one is believing.

  17. DanielSong39 says:

He could win four or five more or he could win zero
To be honest I thought he would have won four or five more in the past 9 years. Given his talent it's not an unreasonable expectation

  18. David Givins says:

Difficulty sports accomplishments winning 2 golf majors is no big deal 😊😅😂❤ stop your foolishness

  19. David Givins says:

Rory can win them all as long as he is the field!😊😅😂❤

  20. Justino says:

Rory has been on tour for over 15 years and he's won, what? 4 majors. He has been 0/36 for the last 9 years. Peter J, what make you think he 'can' win an equal or more majors in the later part of his career? Though I'm a fan of Rory, I think he will get worse than better going forward because he has to squeeze out every bit of his physical potential than bigger and other more physical players (e.g., Rahm) to stay ahead of competition, which typically comes with elevated probability of injury.

  21. Lee Corcoran says:

The most important thing was at Hoylake was that Brian didn’t 3 putt in 72 holes ⛳️👍👍

  22. The sad thing is that as soon as he wins his next one, instead of celebrating the end of a 10 year drought, people will just be talking about when can he win his 6th one.

  23. Ben Ropiha says:

Maybe one would be a good start 😂
