IMO Slafkovsky would have struggled even at the AHL level so he is still no matter what far from being an impact player.Last year he was just a body not doing much of anything so imo a rating of like a 2/10 so if he improves a bit maybe a ceiling of 4/10 still not deserving of being on the team. This management group seems to really be pushing THEIR guys instead of utilizing the entire team and all the players.
Slafkovsky has not proven ANYTHING so why are we even pushing him in to the habs lineup why is he being given or gifted a free spot on the team because he was a first round pick?
Is management trying to save their own face by not sending him to Laval afraid of how they look with their first round pick not being good enough? The other prospects deserve the exact same treatment to be given a chance and not just gifted one.

  2. galkanftw says:

Why we don't see many superstars is because the player has to not only combine skating and cardio and IQ he needs to be able to work the stick and puck at the same time all the while reading the ice and his line mates AND the defenders there is a LOT to absorb in a split second. It is the same reason I don't like Justin Barron his mind works way too slow.
What really bothers me is WHY are so many people going out of their way to try and make Slafkovsky better when we have loads of other players that deserve the same treatment.Slafkovsky was GIFTED a role in the starting lineup he did NOT earn it and that is just wrong and disrespectful to the other players working their butts off.

  3. debby willan says:

Too raw to play in the NHL, the usual Hab mistake.

  4. Jason Sparks says:

Slav will be traded before he blossoms. Hab fans and management doesn't have the patience.

  5. He will be fine. We need to give him time and just lay off on our unreasonable expectations. Nice high tech tools…

  6. Joe Schemo says:

I am liking Slafkovsky's new haircut. Looking so much more like some one that is taking things serious this time around.

  7. The guy with the beard doesn't know what he's talking about …Slaf isn't solid on his skates because he doesn't bend his knees a bit before taking a hit…harder for tall guys thAn shorter guys to do this. He has too much muscle mass for hockey , like running with a 20lbs backsack against people without a backsack like Connor McDavid…of course Slag can't follow McDavid and be out of breath following leaner guys …Slaf has the body to play football…. That's why horse races get lean low weight jockeys to help the horse go faster .

  8. Rick bengle says:

20% better… They are saying his lung capacity is 20% better…If that is the case he was in WOEFUL shape to begin with. For an elite Athlete a @5 improvement is herculean. Stop buying the Bullshit

  9. Interesting put on a pair of sunglasses and your 20% better ?

  10. Alfonso Fata says:

Tony love the show al the mailman Orlando

  11. Elie G. says:

20% better measurements of air = 20% better , that is the less scientifical equation i have ever seen. Lets see in a real game please before analysing nothing at all, just to make a video and talk about something that might never happen…

  12. I laughed when the Drago reference flew over his head as I had thought along the same lines when I initially saw those clips. Rocky IV vibes for sure. 🙂

  13. We will have Arber to help keep Reaves in check. I’m not saying he can take Reaves but he is a deterrent.

  14. TheXcuse says:

    Rough home life for Tony

  15. R Good says:

Montreal was very Bergevinish with their treatment of Slafkovsky. He should never have played last year. He should have stayed in Europe and played in the World Juniors (they would have won if he played). Horrible treatment of him. Best thing that happened to Sergachev is the trade. He would have been forced into playing minutes he wasn't ready for instead of being sheltered in Tampa Bay. Happy he avoided having his career derailed before it was started. By the way Liiga plays the way Montreal has played for the last 30 years (BORING).

  16. AG says:

Still would have traded Slafkovsky and the 5th for Anaheim 2nd. Hope I am wrong but he does not look like a superstar.

  17. Randy Lavoy says:

Let him play big minutes in LAVAL .!!! He needs to find his N.A. GAME !! THEN …call him up …Just like Pacioretty ..!! He is only 19 years old .!! What's the rush.???

  18. nrich51 says:

Anybody who doesn't think that drugs ( that includes alcohol ) destroy lives is misjudging this insidious problem. I hope Galchenyuk can get into a treatment program soon and turn his life around.

  19. We habs fans need to learn to chill a bit… there are countless examples of players who became superstars being pretty low key for a bit at the start of their careers.

The Sedins come to mind. In Vancouver there was mass panic after 3 seasons when they were putting up very low offensive numbers as the 2nd and 3rd overall picks. They then exploded to be 2 of the best offensive quarterbacks of their era.

  20. Doppps says:

    Slaf will be a beast

  21. ranman1708 says:

Stop interrupting your guests. I love your show but…

  22. Philippe says:

This is really encouraging hearing that. I was not surprised when Nicolas said Slafkovski is a hard worker. The only thing I'm worried whit him is his age and the fact that he have a big target on his back since he is the bigger guy on the roster. Kinda like Lantendresse. I know they are not the same player but we are facing a team like Toronto three times whit Reaves in the line-up and this doesnt reassures me.

  23. Jake Gyllenhall on the show ! 🤩

  24. Terry Gain says:

Slaf will play on the 2nd line with Monaghan and will score 15-20 goals.

  25. Sam B says:

People can say whatever about Galchenyuk the player/person, but what's abundantly clear is how the organization completely failed the player. Be it from the development conflicts with his dad, or the way they handled his being the victim of a domestic violence situation, the Habs failed Alex Galchenyuk.

  26. Consider Todd Bertuzzi – it took him 5 years to put up any meaningful offensive #’s

  27. Mark Kelly says:

I’m surprised that Tony hasn’t bought an Avalanche jersey yet since his favourite player in the world has signed with them.

  28. Denise Pink says:

    Love the Rocky references

  29. dahabs says:

    love the guest
    but i dont understand
ok um: hes going on about twitter saying he needs to lose weight.
ok perhaps clarification might be needed,he needs to redistriubute his weight.
all this science stuff might be new to hockey.but it isnt new baseball has been doing it for over 10 years.
the whole he has 1% fat how can he lose weight doesnt fly as an argument.
because in baseball people have overbalanced in the same way.too top heavy not enough leg power.and it limited their range of movement.
have you ever seem gallys legs? wayyyy big small body.

that leads to the question: what is slaffy?
is he a scoring forward top trio?
    second trio power forward?
or third trio banger in the corners.
because if hes number 1 ,doesnt need that weight up top.
i dont see him laying the body.much.dont project him as a power forward.

sounds to me they dont like what they drafted and are trying to change his game…again.hope it works out, know it wont 😛

    sick gohabsgo
