I’ve watched a few theory videos on gorilla vs grizzly. Hands down the grizzly. More bite force and those claws, plus grizzly can weigh 3-4 times that of a silverback gorilla.

Advice for Godwin on the 308 barrel length. If he has that muzzle device, you're good with a 16" barrel / 1:12. The muzzle device will get you up to a virtual 20" length that's standard for that cartridge. A full 20" might get a bit clumsy with a device at the end. Anything past 22" is match grade, i don't think you need that for the average shot distance to hit a deer with.
