Definitely not a swing to try to copy if you are new to the game.

  2. Ron Norris says:

I to am a lefty and new as well. Just wondering about the proper grip. Thanks for the content

  3. R.H. says:

As a lefty new to the game this is great. Thank you.

  4. John Smith says:

Overswings the club, comes in steep…two of the biggest swing killers amateurs have to deal with…but he's insanely, one of if not THE most talented player ever (were talking pure natural born talent), so why change a thing…hes a 40 time winner…talent trumps all

Yet another wonderful video! One thing I just noticed (I've watched this one a few times): when he plants his right (lead) foot down, his thighs and hips open up, which I suspect is simultaneously helpful for sequencing, whip, and power. I just drilled this move today in an exaggerated way with a short iron and with driver, and while it felt weird at first, by the 10th time or so it felt very effective in "bringing out" a nice fluid whip.

Is his swing essentially the same in recent years Adam?

  7. Robert Urban says:

    Excellent analysis

  8. Heck,… he's still won over 40 times on the Tour, 3 green jackets, won 3 out of the 4 majors, and holds the record number of runner up finishes at the US Open if I'm correct. And he's dominating on the Senior Tour now.

  9. Thank you , this is the instruction I was looking for .

Folks, the secret is throwing the club with your right hand. Or the whip. Mike Austin taught this. I did this on the course and was shocked at the distance. Will be going to the course this Sunday to continue working on it.

  13. Did you know: Phil is the best short game player

  14. ran doshus says:

I think he swings so vertically because it aligns his shot with almost no hip turn..it's like the right sided swing…very old school.

  15. David Marks says:

Very interesting. I am right handed but I play golf left handed. I Played at the start right handed, but I never felt comfortable. The owner of my local golf range watched me and said try playing left handed. it felt strange at first but straight away I noticed how much better and easier my swing felt. I have never looked back. Another thing he said watch the ladies play, and I realized from that I could see how in tune they are with their bodies, graceful movement, wonderful balance, letting the club do the work. The guys seem to want to force it , and seem to carry a lot of tension in the body. Where the ladies go with the flow.

Great videos and awesome teaching Thank you.
